Absolutely enthralling to visualize the possibilities

This book is empowering for women that want to be women with options and a bright future filled with true fulfillment and happiness. I feel more equipped to boldly aim to acquire the life I want after listening to this book, which means working along the grain of my instincts and desires for marriage and children rather than trying to brainwash myself to believe I have to live a big “Girl Boss” life in order to be worth anything. I want an authentic life, and this book has certainly helped this 20-something year old woman confidently strive for that. I recommended Suzanne Venker to a friend in her late 30s and she felt the same way! Highly, highly recommend.

Historia
On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

This was exactly what I needed.

I will be re-listening to this book and recommending it to as many people as I can. I bought the book looking for a solution know that I had a problem, know that I didn’t want my fear to hold me back from living life anymore, and J got so much more than a bandaid. I see my growth with the practice of what I learned here, and its euphoric and freeing. It’s not easy finding the perfect puzzle piece to a gapping hole, but I think I found it with this recording. And I love that it’s not just a book but the actual live speeches that she gave. It made me feel like I was in the audience, learning from a teacher in a fun classroom setting. Like Ted Talk but with a million “Aha” moments and friendly jokes and deep looks inside yourself. And, I saw the need for her points in the lives of the men around me, and each time I gave them a clip of the recording or shared something I learned, they felt so calmed, at peace, and even hopeful. This is a book for everyone. If you think you may have a problem with vulnerability amongst close people in your life, setting proper boundaries, trying to “fit in” as an adult, perfectionism, fear, over-functioning, or SHAME in any degree, please consider getting this. Listen in your car, on a walk, or focus on it. In the first few hours I took so many notes that I stopped because I wanted to devour the recording faster than my note taking skills would allow!
