Historia
The weather magic that holds Lur safe is failing, and the earth feels broken to those with the power to see. Among Lur's sorcerers, only Asher has the skill to mend the antique weather map that governs the seasons, keeping the land from being crushed by natural forces. Yet, when Asher risks his life to meddle with these dangerous magics, the crisis is merely delayed, not averted.

great except for pronunciation.

great story just a few issues with how a few words are pronounced compared to the last series of audio books. It was easy to get over with it only really being one or two words.

Historia
This riveting memoir is the incredible story of Jeff Henderson's rollercoaster ride from high-stakes cocaine dealer, to prison inmate, to world-class chef. When he was 23, he was indicted on federal drug trafficking charges and sentenced to almost 20 years. One day, he was assigned to wash dishes in the prison kitchen, and he immediately took an interest in food preparation and eventually determined that when he was released, he would become a chef, no matter what.

not very good
Revisado: 06-28-12
What would have made Cooked better?
Better english
What could Jeff Henderson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Less thug talk more English language.
How could the performance have been better?
If the story was written better
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Cooked?
Not scenes just changed how it was written
Any additional comments?
With all the f-bombs and raw language the author can off as uneducated. I stopped listening half way through. Me and my friend who are cooks still laugh about this book. Its a joke.

Historia
In 2007 chef Grant Achatz seemingly had it made. He had been named one of the best new chefs in America by Food & Wine in 2002, received the James Beard Foundation Rising Star Chef of the Year Award in 2003, and in 2005 he and Nick Kokonas opened the conceptually radical restaurant Alinea, which was named Best Restaurant in America by Gourmet magazine. Then, Achatz was diagnosed with stage IV squamous cell carcinoma - tongue cancer.

Historia
Anthony Bourdain, author of Kitchen Confidential, once again brings to light the inner workings of the "culinary underbelly" in his bold reinvention of the traditional Christmas story. At once risqué and charming, A Chef's Christmas is sure to bring holiday cheer to those who make dinner and those who only make reservations.

Shorter story but still very good. More like Bone in the Throat then Kitchen Confidential.
