Historia
When Frank Johnson arrived in Vietnam in 1969, he was 19, a young soldier untested in combat like thousands of others - but with two important differences: Johnson volunteered for the elite L Company Rangers of the 101st Airborne Division, a long range reconnaissance patrol (LRRP) unit, and he kept a secret diary, a practice forbidden by the military to protect the security of LRRP operations. Now, more than three decades later, those hastily written pages offer a rare look at the daily operations of one of the most courageous units that waged war in Vietnam.

Another abridged book that skips so much. Audible needs to just stop allowing this nonsense.

Historia
They will never be able to duplicate the 5th Special Forces Recondo School and the training that gave its grads something they desperately needed - the skills to survive Long Range Patrol missions in the jungle that NVA considered its own. Vietman veteran Larry Chambers vividly describes the grit and courage it took to pass the tough volunteer-only training program in Nha Trang and the harrowing graduation mission to scout out, locate, and out-guerrilla the NVA.

Would have been nice to know this was abridged. There is nothing explaining that before you buy.

Just A List
Revisado: 03-31-20
It’s just a list of things he feels you should do to have a better life. No real substance to anything listed.
I’d save my money.

Historia
The Zombie War came unthinkably close to eradicating humanity. Max Brooks, driven by the urgency of preserving the acid-etched first-hand experiences of the survivors from those apocalyptic years, traveled across the United States of America and throughout the world, from decimated cities that once teemed with upwards of 30 million souls, to the most remote and inhospitable areas of the planet.

Book MUCH MUCH Better.
Revisado: 10-15-14
What would have made World War Z better?
Don't waste your money on this terrible abridged version of a fantastically written book.
Any additional comments?
I didn't realize this was abridged when I purchased it. Had I known, I wouldn't have wasted a dime. SOO much was left out. I am VERY disappointed in the publishers and Max Brooks for approving such a disasterous audiobook. They ommitted entire sections talking about the dead walking through the oceans and attacking boats, the Navy/Marines combating that issue and so much more.
Book was much better AND CHEAPER!

Mispronounced words/names
Revisado: 09-11-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, but only if you can handle words being mispronounced throughout the entire book. The same words continuously.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Band of Brothers?
The end of the book, when the author is telling you about the soldiers after the war, always gets me choked up. Makes me think of my grandfather and what he must have went through upon returning from Germany.
Did Tim Jerome do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
He could have done much better. Bastogne, Guarnere and Toye are repeatedly mispronounced, making it extremely difficult to listen to.
