Tell the truth!!! Don't be Stupid!
Revisado: 06-25-18
Basic storyline is solid. Very good reader. But come on, why would the lead character do the things she did over and over again??/ And why doesn't she tell her closest friend--her husband--the truth about what she's done?? Note: If you find $$$$$$ and a cell phone in Bora Bora. Keep the money, don't use the phone...EVER. Too bad the author couldn't make it more realistic. Life is challenging enough. You don't need to make your characters moronic.

Historia
Peter Guillam, staunch colleague and disciple of George Smiley of the British Secret Service, otherwise known as the Circus, is living out his old age on the family farmstead on the south coast of Brittany when a letter from his old service summons him to London. The reason? His Cold War past has come back to claim him. Intelligence operations that were once the toast of secret London, and involved such characters as Alec Leamas, Jim Prideaux, George Smiley, and Peter Guillam himself, are to be scrutinized by a generation with no memory of the Cold War.

Same story since first Silvia book.

Weak premise. Last five books are a rehashing of Gabriel Alon's life. Need to be more creative rather than repeating same old thing.

Historia
A profound expansion of David McCullough, Jr.’s popular commencement speech - a call to arms against a prevailing, narrow, conception of success viewed by millions on YouTube - You Are Not Special is a love letter to students and parents as well as a guide to a truly fulfilling, happy life. By acknowledging that the world is indifferent to them, McCullough takes pressure off of students to be extraordinary achievers and instead exhorts them to roll up their sleeves and do something useful with their advantages.

Historia
The scene opens with an obscure death in Washington's Foggy Bottom, home of the State Department, shifts to mass murder in the downing of aircraft, and then moves on to mayhem in the streets of the new Moscow. Leaving an airport near New York, a D.C.-bound commuter plane falls to earth. At almost the same time, another crash occurs. And then... Firmly ruling out coincidence, investigators seek means and motive. The means are soon apparent: small-scale weaponry with large-scale impact.

Weak story and silly vocals
Revisado: 02-18-16
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Sklar is a great reader usually. This was not a good performance. Story was very weak and really didn't add up logically or believably.
What was most disappointing about Margaret Truman’s story?
She thinks she knows about Washington, but throws in monument names and restaurant names to add flavor but it comes across as forced. No mystery to this story at all.
What didn’t you like about Alan Sklar’s performance?
He's better in non-fiction. Does not do female voices well.
What character would you cut from Murder in Foggy Bottom?
All of them. And the writer too.
Any additional comments?
Can I get my money back??

From batting averages and political polls to game shows and medical research, the real-world application of statistics continues to grow by leaps and bounds. How can we catch schools that cheat on standardized tests? How does Netflix know which movies you'll like? What is causing the rising incidence of autism? As best-selling author Charles Wheelan shows us in Naked Statistics, the right data and a few well-chosen statistical tools can help us answer these questions and more.

Too Many Future References--"we'll get to it later
Revisado: 04-11-15
What did you like best about Naked Statistics? What did you like least?
Interesting subject matter. Delivery OK. But not written for the spoken word and author makes multiple references to future explanations. He creates a problem set, then says he will explain what it means in a future chapter. He does this about half dozen times and it gets old quickly.

Excellent Narration-Graeme Malcolm is THE best!
Revisado: 04-11-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Excellent story made even better because of the narration. M.C. Beaton's other Hamish Macbeth stories are ONLY good if Graeme Malcolm is the reader. Others don't do justice to the story.
