Historia
Crulden the Ruiner is the name of a fierce gladiator who's broken the rules...and broken anyone who approaches. It's my name. It's a name that strikes fear into the hearts of all...all except the small human female who comes to clean my cell and glares at me the entire time. My new owners want things from me. They want me to play in their games. They want me to win battles for them. Well, I know what I want in return. I want her. And I don't care who I have to destroy to get her.

Great story, thoroughly enjoyed. Great story line with twist I didn't see coming. Characters were believable and I liked their interactions. One of the few heroines I actually liked.

“You are the savior of mankind” are the last words I ever expected to hear while nibbling on fries. The thing is, I’m not mankind saving material. I don’t even have magic (and just found out it exists). I’m the most boring, normal(ish) human ever. Suddenly, I’m being tossed right into the middle of a fight that started years before I was even born, and then I get partnered up with Alastair, a quirky magical Guardian. He is rather attractive and sweet when he’s not into the whole “woe is me, I can’t let myself fall in love with you” nonsense.

What a great book! I hated when I had to put it down. The beginning doesn't have a lot of action, but the characters, the dialog, so fantastic. Fun, funny, clever. Some of my favorite book lines ever are from this book. Great author doing great things, again.

Max Remus couldn't care less about finding his mate—unlike the rest of his fate-obsessed pack. He totally prefers hanging with his bestie, eating his dad's steak sandwiches, and drawing in his trusty sketchbook. But all that is about to change at the Blue Moon Festival—a summer camp where Elite Pack wolves go to find their mates. The festival is a rite of passage for every teen werewolf, and this year's festival will be one to howl home about. The alpha's son, Jasper Apollo, is attending for the first time.

Good book. I was afraid, given the age of the mc, that it would be childish with immature themes. Granted, it didn't have adult themes, but it was well written and entertaining with an incredible connection to the mc. The only thing, really, was the importance placed on the young people. They took on roles that you would expect of adults and thinking that kids would do it instead was a little inauthentic. Loved seeing his world through Max's eyes.

Love this narrator, he's the absolute best. Good story. Metahumans are made by surviving a chemical attack that kills most. Each person develops different skills. This book is about an elite force of Metahumans. The plot is OK. A bit too much sex in relation to plot. I didn't feel the 2 mains grew a lot and their relationship was instant and static.

3 1/2 stars. This book takes place on another planet where humans have relocated and developed "flair", something like magic, and also heart mates. Not everyone has flair though, nor does everyone have a heart mate.
I liked the mains and their story. Had no problems with the instant connection. Each main had a problem to solve - his a disappearance of family members, and hers a physical ailment and memory loss. Both were good, though I don't think their two problems plus the blossoming of their relationship blended very well. In the end, it was short of anticlimactic.
The narrator was sometimes smooth and sometimes stilted. The voice of the kitten was terrible for a kitten.

Perhaps time and distance are the best antidotes for a vengeful heart. Nope, that's a lie. The pig must die. Happily ever after? Zaina doesn't believe in it. Now revenge on the other hand... All she has to do is: cut her hair, dress up as a boy, call herself Little John, join the traveling circus, guard her soul against the evil sorceress, battle dragons and avoid the lethal tip of the mysterious Lord Hood's blade.

Audio book with nice narration. Good beginning and strong end but a bit dragging in the middle. It was hard to buy a princess falling so fully into the master/ servant relationship as she did. I alternately like, and was frustrated by, the heroine. I had difficulty connecting with the characters. This was a Robin Hood remake and I enjoyed that aspect of it.

This is a prime example of the necessity for good narrators. The narration was so stilted it was painful to listen to. The story seems predictable and pat, but enjoyable enough that I may choose to continue it in written format. Audio is an absolute no go.

The seemingly endless war with the Grutex has caused many inconveniences for Amanda, but none of those have been as bad as losing the funding for the project she is working on, which is supposed to help save humanity. When she foolishly risks her life to continue her research, Amanda is thrown into the path of an alien, the likes of which she has never seen, who claims she is his mate. The problem is, he isn’t the only one making that claim.

I liked the characters, but I didn't love any of them. The heroine was OK until he mates get taken and she does absolutely nothing, not even express her desire for their return. I don't mind if she's not an ass kicker, but at least be distressed that they've been taken from her. The introduction of O'shens siblings added a lot of new names at once and I didn't feel they were necessary. Pretty much everything that happened under the water added nothing to the story and felt pointless. The sex scenes became more and more confusing, and I just waited them out. Despite all this criticism, it was an easy listen and held my interest. The pacing was good and the conflict well balanced.

Sure, my life isn’t going exactly according to plan - I have a degree that led nowhere, a crappy job as a closing-shift barista, and an ex who has everything I want and got it by dumping myself - but that doesn’t mean I’m willing to give up on living yet! And, holy crap, when I’m plucked off the sidewalk of my rural Colorado town on the very night of my ex’s wedding, I’m pretty damn sure I’m about to lose my life and a whole lot more. If you’ve never tried flying, I do not recommend the first time be when you’re drunk and alone at two in the morning.

Fun read. Loved the wit of the author. Very natural and funny, and enhanced the simple story line. The relationship between the two mains was sweet. I didn't quite understand why they hadn't just taken what they had learned to the king instead of taking matters into fjord own hands, but it worked for the story.
