Historia
Welcome to the hilarious, strange, elegiac, outrageous world of David Sedaris. In Naked, Sedaris turns the current mania for the memoir on its proverbial ear, mining the exceedingly rich terrain of his life, his family, and his unique worldview, a sensibility at once take-no-prisoners sharp and deeply charitable.

Didn't care for this one - and I'm a huge fan
Revisado: 08-23-05
I've enjoyed all the others, but can't give this more than 3/5. I found the stories a tad boring, and found myself giggling a lot less than in others.

Historia
It's Monday. Time to hit the pause button on your personality and get ready for the next meeting because, for the next five days, we'll be speaking the language of business. And, from bloated jargon and monotonous memos to syrupy slogans and deadly dull presentations, the official language of business is bull. The second we get to work, we join the masses who trade the wit and warmth of their voices for a corporate stamp of approval and the comfort of conformity.

I LOVED IT. ... best this year
Revisado: 06-12-05
This book is funny, smart, and genuinely useful. I couldn't stop the listen... I highly recommend this one. The deadpan delivery is perfect for this topic.

Historia
If you are driving, pull over. If you are at work, close your door, unless you don't mind your colleagues seeing you doubled over, in tears, on your office floor. With this recording, taped before a delirious sold out audience at Carnegie Hall, you are there as David Sedaris performs new stories from his upcoming book. A parrot who mimics an ice maker, lovers quarreling over a rubber hand, and a Santa Claus who moonlights from his job as bishop of Turkey, the cast of characters is like no other.

Material that exists on other books.
Revisado: 01-01-05
I'm a huge David Sedaris fan, and enjoyed the other two audio books on Audible by the same. However, this live performance is to be skipped, as it has material from the other two books on it. The only difference is that on this version, you get to hear audience reaction, which is fun. Still, I wish I'd saved my money for when audible posts Naked or another Sedaris book.

America is a country gripped by fear. In this widely-acclaimed book, Barry Glassner exposes the people and organizations that manipulate our perceptions and profit from our anxieties. These peddlers of fear (politicians, advocacy groups, and the media) cost Americans dearly, weighing us down with needless worries and causing us to squander billions of dollars to fix mythological problems.

A really enjoyable social science listen...
Revisado: 08-06-04
I enjoyed every minute of this audiobook. This one is intellectual, but easy to understand for anyone. A little bit philosophy, a lot social science, and a bit of wit here and there. My favorite audio book to date, and I listen a lot.

Enjoyable throughout - if you are interested
Revisado: 07-19-04
I'm a retail designer so have found this audiobook to be quite enjoyable from start to finish. It's a little 'light' but for me that's just what I enjoy after the 'heaviness' of working all day. One of the most enjoyable audiobooks I've yet purchased.

A meandering commercial for their products
Revisado: 06-26-03
I'm an avid listener to books of this type and have never heard one that was more loosly written, or read with a more annoying inflection. The style of psuedo-conversational writing is awful and particularly unsuited for audiobooks. I learned absolutely nothing in this book except to avoid books by this author in the future.
