This was the 18th in series, and I’ve heard 1-18 and already bought the next 4 or more. The writer has a gift for action and suspense, which is why I buy these. Plus, playing at 0.8x makes them a bargain.

I liked the main characters, the plot, the mystery solving. Just enjoyable with the narrator giving the stories an appropriate tone. It’s five books in one, and an excellent deal bought in a set.

The narrator never improved. What I tried to do was pretend it was my 14 year aunt reading to me when I was 5 years old, and roll my eyes at strange pronunciations.
I paid for this, and was not disappointed. Most of the story centers around strong female characters, which was fine.
The writer deserves credit for this, and I enjoyed it, but wish they had not had a couple curse phrases which are not used that I’ve ever heard—gonads and gods involved.

The Dominion fleet batters at the worm hole defenses and its strength increases every day. The Victorian forces are not strong enough to fight their way out. It is a war of attrition that Victoria cannot win.

It’s a nice trilogy, and I salute the author. Not hard to be invested in the characters, and the plot usually moves along nicely. The narrator must have done all three books straight through without feedback, but her voice is nice enough.

Reminds me of a better series than Clive Cussler’s Dirk Pitt series. These are more balanced with better characters, in my opinion. AND I wish the best for indy writers! No sex & little swearing, which is big plus.
