Historia
Harriet and Wyn have been the perfect couple since they met in college—they go together like salt and pepper, honey and tea, lobster and rolls. Except, now—for reasons they’re still not discussing—they don’t. They broke up five months ago. And still haven’t told their best friends.

Deeply flawed people deserve HEA too
Revisado: 04-27-23
I really liked this one, Emily Henry has such an insightful writing style and her character development really draws me in. I’m currently going back to read any other titles by her I haven’t read yet and am going to read anything she writes in the future. I loved how the protagonist is a deeply flawed person who has a lot of learning to do about herself and her issues. Depression and mental health, communication skills, and childhood emotional trauma are all themes that are explored and worked through in healthy ways in this book. I feel like I learned some things that I’ll go apply in my own life and relationship after listening. The story made me both cry and smile and I’ll be thinking about this one for a long time afterwards. Loved it.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

A methodical, exciting, utterly engrossing listen
Revisado: 07-01-12
I hugely enjoyed listening to this novel. The narration and the prose were both fantastic. I enjoyed the way Stephen King could immerse me in an account of the past that was simultaneously exciting and rustic. It takes a talented author to construct a novel that can follow the quiet, introspective moments of its characters as well as their heart-pounding, exciting ones. I would recommend this book to anyone. Romance, action, sci-fi, suspense--once again, one of the greatest authors of our time is able to skillfully combine them all into an absolute gem of a novel.

Historia
In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

Definitely a book for YA thrill-seekers!
Revisado: 07-01-12
As a connoisseur of dystopic, YA Sci-Fi novels, I can say that after reading many similar novels in the past, this one really stands apart from the crowd. There is something special about the way Roth portrays her strong female protagonist. You find yourself worrying about Triss and wanting her to succeed. I love the underlying themes of this novel, about identifying and acting-upon the qualities each of us values most in our dealings with our fellow man, and how those values can be warped when taken to extremes. It is both a mature and introspective novel as well as a thrilling, action-packed sci-fi. The romantic elements feel natural and engrossing. I would definitely recommend this book to all lovers of young adult fiction.

An engrossing sequel to an exciting new series
Revisado: 07-01-12
This was a satisfying sequel to a gripping new series about a futuristic, dystopian society. I think fans of Scott Westerfield's "Uglies" series would enjoy these novels, as they both focus on strong female protagonists and fast-paced action. One of my favorite elements of this novel is how naturally the romance is incorporated into the story, I hate books that focus on the romance and add the plot in as an afterthought--skillfully avoided here. I'll be eagerly awaiting the next installment. My favorite part of this production was Emma Galvin's performance. Her delivery of each role is so intense and skillful that I couldn't help but hang on her every word. Definitely an exciting book and equally as engrossing, if not more so, as its predecessor. A great read for teens or any lovers of young adult science-fiction.

A feel good, flirtatious chick-lit
Revisado: 07-01-12
I have markedly dichotomous taste in books, but sometimes you just need to lighten things up with a feel good romantic-comedy-type book. I love Kinsella's works because the dialogue is always witty and fun, and the narrator did a great job of delivering it. I often found myself laughing out loud listening to this book in my car. Kinsella's characters are charming and you want all their foibles to work out into a happy ending, to which the author always delivers. (I can't believe I just used the word foibles...) No, it's not some deep, literary masterpiece. But it was a lot of fun, and I'd recommend it for an enjoyable listen.

Ever since she was a tiny child, Sabriel has lived outside the walls of the Old Kingdom, away from the random power of Free Magic, and away from the Dead who won't stay dead. But now her father, the Mage Abhorsen, is missing, and to find him Sabriel must cross back into that world.

In homage to Spinal Tap, I'd rate this 6/5 stars
Revisado: 07-01-12
Sabriel could stand alone and be a deeply satisfying and thoroughly enjoyable read (although two mind-boggling fantastic sequels do follow). The Old Kingdom and the world that Garth Nix creates are such deeply magical, mysterious places that they have lingered with me more than a decade after I first enjoyed reading Sabriel. It was delightful recently rediscovering this series with Tim Curry's excellent narration. If I were stranded on a desert island, I would take Sabriel and its sequels with me. I don't think I could give it higher praise than that. I know that any lover of fantasy who gives this book a chance will be more than rewarded, both by the poignancy of Sabriel's story and by the quality of Tim Curry's narration. I wish it could go on forever!

Historia
You'd think being a Prince in a vast intergalactic empire would be about as good as it gets, particularly when Princes are faster, smarter, and stronger than normal humans. Not to mention being mostly immortal. But it isn't as great as it sounds. Princes need to be hard to kill - as Khemri learns the minute he becomes one - for they are always in danger. Their greatest threat? Other Princes. Every Prince wants to become Emperor, and the surest way to do so is to kill, dishonor, or sideline any potential competitor.

A unique and entertaining YA Fantasy
Revisado: 07-01-12
Although this novel started off a little steeply by introducing the listener to the plethora of almost overwhelming sci-fi and fantasy jargon comprising Nix's empire, I was soon hooked by my desire to see the flawed, but sympathetic, Khemri succeed as a Prince. Although not as ground-breaking as some of Nix's previous works (such as Shade's Children or the Abhorsen series), I enjoyed the unique world and characters portrayed in this book. With plenty of exciting action and a smattering of satisfying and believable romance, this book has a healthy dose of everything lovers of young adult fiction could ask for in a novel. Overall, it was entertaining throughout and a good use of my credit.

Artfully crafted coming-of-age fantasy
Revisado: 07-01-12
It was delightful to revisit the series that my twelve-year-old self counted as my absolute favorite of all time. I cannot think of a more talented or appropriate narrator for this book than Tim Curry. Between the excellent prose and Curry's performance, this familiar coming-of-age tale took on a new level of greatness. What I love most about Lireal is Nix's ability to portray a strong, but fallible human being who goes through the same insecurities that we all face while taking on impossible odds. The world of fantasy constructed by Nix is further explored and illuminated in this novel, and if anything, this sequel is better than its predecessor, Sabriel, which is also excellent. I would recommend it to readers of all ages because this book, and series, is one of the most artfully crafted, enthralling, and lingering fantasies I've ever encountered.

Great Story, Great Narration
Revisado: 04-05-12
I love Rick Riordan's natural style. His action is perfectly plotted and his dialogue sparkles. His characters are believable and endearing. The narrator did a great job giving voice to Percy, a daunting task when so many of us have a preconceived notion about what this awesome hero should sound like. This book was another great installment in a series I've grown to expect only the best from. The audiobook is excellent, and I would highly recommend it.

Wonderful and Whimsical
Revisado: 04-05-12
I cannot begin to rave about how much I love Neil Gaiman's book and narration. He is a fantastic author and performer. These productions are also kind of special because they augment the story by incorporating a little music into thematic portions. This story was wonderful and whimsical, a true representation of what great children's fantasy should aspire to be. I still find myself wondering about Nobody and Silas. This book lingers on long after the final page. Highly recommended to all.
