Best of the best!
Revisado: 12-14-04
I would like to respond to 'low carb second serving's' statement, "Not nearly as good as "Black", the first novel in this trilogy, and you would have to read that one first to understand this book." Since this is a trilogy, of course it needs to be read in order. Yes, please read Black first! This is a series of books not to be missed and in my opinion the best Christian fiction I have read to date. I appreciate Ted Dekker's creativity and Christian insight. It is very innovative and a satisfying read!

Great Christian Mystery!
Revisado: 07-08-04
It is so refreshing to have a mystery writer write from a Christian point of view. This book kept me interested from the beginning to the end. I want more!

Beginning of a new series?
Revisado: 06-18-03
For all of you Alex Cross fans, read this with an open mind. James Patterson has created a brand new story line that still holds excitement, intrigue and a fast pace. "Winged children?" you may say, but give this book serious consideration. I listened to this straight through! This book is followed by Lake House, Patterson's newest publication. If you are looking for a series again, this may be for you.

Historia
Pi Patel has been raised in a zoo in India. When his father decides to move the family to Canada and sell the animals to American zoos, everyone boards a Japanese cargo ship. The ship sinks, and 16-year-old Pi finds himself alone on a lifeboat with a hyena, an orangutan, a zebra with a broken leg, and a 450-pound Bengal tiger. Soon it's just Pi, the tiger, and the vast Pacific Ocean - for 227 days. Pi's fear, knowledge, and cunning keep him alive until they reach the coast of Mexico, where the tiger disappears into the jungle.

Don't give up!
Revisado: 06-11-03
After two hours of listening, I had to go back to the summary on this one to ask myself, "Why did I choose this book?" I couldn't believe how boring it was but I decided to hang in there and continue on and I am so glad I did. When the story finally took hold, it didn't let go until the final words. Be ready for drama, laughter, tears, and suspense. Along the way, you will even learn about the characteristics of many animals. Stick with this one and you will be glad you did.
