Great performance, but boring story

I had high hopes for the book as it sounded like a lot of fun. I love spy and mystery novels with humor and a light touch of romance. This story is very boring, even with a fantastic narrator. After listening for two and half hours, nothing much of interest had happened. The main character has no money, job, nor talent, which make for an unappealing main character, and could have been explained much quicker. There is not even a hint of mystery or even “royal spyness-ing.” I wish I had known this prior to ordering. Hopefully this will be helpful to others. Maybe other books in the series are better.
