Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Loved this Story
Revisado: 03-17-25
I really enjoyed the story. It was full of twists and turns. A new world introduced to me that I am glad to have encountered. The female narrator was great. I was not a fan of the male voice that introduced at the end of the novel. The voice was not what had been speaking in my head. I am looking forward to listening to the next book.

Loved this Book!
Revisado: 02-03-25
I admit that I was a little scared off by the length of the book, but I absolutely was drawn to the story from beginning to end. The character development was excellent and the story engaging. The narrator did a good job changing character voices. I highly recommend this book.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Entertaining
Revisado: 05-21-24
I have never seen anything by Trevor Noah before so I don’t really know about him. I knew he was a comedian and hosted a talk show. I also knew that this book was on the bestseller list for a long time. I finally got around to listening to it. It is very enjoyable especially as it is performed by the author. I will definitely recommend listening to this to others.

Not What I Had Hoped
Revisado: 03-03-24
I was a disappointed that I didn’t enjoy this book more. I have always been a big fan of Mark Harmon, but with this recording, I found his voice a bit boring. The story never really held my interest. I like history but I just never connected with this information.

A Story of Perseverance
Revisado: 09-12-23
It is hard to say you enjoy a book based on the horrible realities of what Germans did to the Jewish people during WWII, but this really was a story of hope. I am intrigued by this era and read or listen to many novels written about this time period. While this is not my personal favorite, it is well worth listening to.

Well-written, Heartwarming Novel
Revisado: 07-10-23
I love stories from this era. This is a well-written novel that tugged at my heart. The characters were nicely developed. The performances were also nicely done. I especially enjoyed the female voice. Will recommend highly.

Historia
Lina Meisel, a retired librarian in Florida, is reading the newspaper one morning when she freezes. Her eyes lock on a photograph of a book she hasn’t seen in 65 years - a book she recognizes as The Book of Lost Names. The accompanying article discusses the looting of libraries by the Nazis across Europe during World War II - an experience Lina remembers well - and the search to reunite people with the texts stolen from them so long ago. The book in the photograph is one of the most fascinating cases.

Loved this Love Story
Revisado: 12-30-21
While the narrator was not my favorite, the story kept me listening. Not only was it a love story between a man an a woman, but it was a love story that showed there is still good in this world. I am a Richard Paul Evans fan, but others might find his work predictable. I will always enjoy a feel good novel.
