Very interesting, but not a fan of narration

Disappointed

I was optimistic about this book, but wound up feeling like someone decided to throw some average content together to try and sell a lot of books. Even a few of the speakers were, ironically, weak and uninteresting. Since the topics were stage presence, good communication, etc , and they weren't audiobook narrators, but actual recorded presentations, this was a shock. I figured at the very least I would get to hear some great speakers and could pick up some things from how they presented, but I wound up speeding up the reading speed to get through them more quickly.

The content was mediocre at best, nothing I hadn't heard before, and some that was pure common sense. If you are brand new to public speaking, you might find some value here, but I think there are a lot of good books on public speaking that I'd check out before investing the time and money on this one.

I very seldom return books, maybe one every few years, but I'll probably return this one. I can't get the time back that I invested in listening to it, but I'd prefer they not get compensated for this collection of mostly sub-par content.

Every believer should consider this a must read

Not fluffy feel good content like so many books with similar titles. you can tell that the author knows the Lord deeply and genuinely.

Adult and teen appropiate. A poignant message for this generation, regarding the concerns of marxism/communism along with the need for evangelism.

nothing bad about the narrorator, just the story.

the narrorator did fine, but the story was probably my least favorite of the Jane Austen novels.
I would say that not alot happend in the story, but it was surely eloquently written that not much happend and that is a praise of Jane Austen and the way she writes, but I would say that this was not an amazing plot, or maybe could have been if there was a bit more drama.
but I am glad I read it, even if it was maybe not one I would read again.

Absolutely Necessary Read for Christians or Not

As a believer in Christ, this may be one of top 2 or 3 books I've ever read, and I've read hundreds. Christians need to read it because we don't think about heaven enough, because we don't know enough about it. I've read the Bible through numerous times, but never realized how many details are revealed about our ultimate destination. Wow, how much more excited I am now with what I know! The image is so much more clear, and easier to visualize. Thank you Randy Alcorn. I'm grateful!

Non-christians need to read it to better understand Christians and what motivates them, and to fully grasp what they are saying "No" to. Maybe you just don't believe it. That's fair. Just be sure you've considered what your betting that it isn't, and be confident in the hand your holding. If you aren't absolutely sure, check it out more thoroughly, because you're all-in either way. It's the final hand. "You've got to know when to hold em', know when to fold em'.."

Absolutely Exceptional and Enjoyable Read

The Green Ember is one of the best books I've read in a long time. I had a hard time putting it down and can't wait to buy and read the sequel. Joel Clarkson did a fabulous narration!
