A book by its cover
Revisado: 07-04-24
The author weaves in and out of various examples of survival stories while working his way into a series of key mental “strengths “ to illustrate what he has learned by studying this subject. He does this with great skill and it’s not tedious trying to follow this style unlike some authors. The types of people he discusses are sometimes those who you would predict to overcome challenging obstacles. Others are interesting diversions from the preconceived notions of survivors. I came away with useful food for thought and found many areas through self reflection that need work. The reader also did justice to the source material and I will keep an eye out for his work as well.

Entertaining and informative

Personal experiences and practical examples used made the material easily digestible. I smiled throughout because the professors sense of humor was relatable. I will review the PDF to refresh my memory in the future.

Historia
The assault on Earth was thwarted by the destruction of the aliens' seed ship, but with Mars still under Lanky control, survivors work frantically to rebuild fighting capacity and shore up planetary defenses. Platoon sergeant Andrew Grayson must crash-course train new volunteers—all while dulling his searing memories of battle with alcohol and meds.

Fell flat towards the end
Revisado: 02-22-24
There have been a few times where the main character has gone squishy throughout the series. This installment will be my last. Yes I understand people will have a crisis of conscience when experiencing stressful events. I have some experience with that. The fairly constant lack of confidence in Andrew this installment just got to be too much. This culminated in his moralizing confrontation with his superior the Major. Seems like too many series go off the rails virtue signalling when it is not necessary.
