Historia
Augustus Everett is an acclaimed author of literary fiction. January Andrews writes best-selling romance. When she pens a happily ever after, he kills off his entire cast. They’re polar opposites. In fact, the only thing they have in common is that for the next three months, they're living in neighboring beach houses, broke, and bogged down with writer's block.

Light entertainment- perfect beach read.
Revisado: 06-01-24
I read and listen to tons of books. This was perfect for what it is. A beach read. Great narration and pace. Not too cheesy. I’ll definitely read more of her books..

Historia
It is New York, 1904, and Dulcy Remfrey, despite an idiosyncratic, traveling childhood, faces the predictable life of a woman of the time. But all that changes when her eccentric father returns from his expedition to Africa without any of the proceeds from the sale of a gold mine. It seems he's lost his mind along with the money, and Dulcy's obsessive ex-fiancé (and her father's business partner) insists she come to Seattle to decipher her father's cryptic notebooks, which may hold clues to the missing funds.

Way too detailed
Revisado: 06-23-22
This story had so much potential but honestly I couldn’t bur it after chapter 14. Some cases it was like listening to someone read off a list. I had to stop.

Historia
Ever since the Bommarito sisters were little girls, their mother, River, has written them a letter on pink paper when she has something especially important to impart. And this time, the message is urgent and impossible to ignore - River requires open-heart surgery, and Isabelle and her sisters are needed at home to run the family bakery and take care of their brother and ailing grandmother.

Great Listen! Loved how edgy these ladies were!
Revisado: 11-10-21
I read a lot of mixed reviews about this book like it tended to not like how crass and edgy these ladies were. But the message is a really good one about the strength of sisters and women and how their young brother who is mentally challenged unites them. I cried at the end of this book which is something I don’t normally do. As long as you don’t mind foul language and edginess I think you’ll enjoy this book. And I know you’ll fall in love with Henry and his amazing spirit. My only dislike about this book was the occasional tone of voice that the author/reader used but it wasn’t enough to deter me… It’s got to be hard. By the way this was a free book to me so I had nothing to lose. I would love to see this made into a movie.

Historia
Eva - known to all as Lovey - grew up safe and secure in Oxford, Mississippi, surrounded by a rich literary history and her mother's stunning flower gardens. But a shed fire, and the injuries that it caused, seemed to change everything...especially when her older sister, Bitsy, blamed Lovey for the irreparable damage. Bitsy became the cheerleader. The homecoming queen. All the while, Lovey served as the family scapegoat, always bearing the brunt when Bitsy threw blame her way. At 18, Lovey fled to Arizona. In time, she became a successful advertising executive....

Lovely story, perfect summer read.
Revisado: 08-15-21
I really enjoyed this free audible book. It was great for a summer lesson by the pool. The story was good unbelievable but not too intense. I definitely recommend this to any woman looking for a little escape.

Excellent Book!
Revisado: 07-20-21
Great story and surprised because it was free! Wasn’t a huge fan of the narrator’s drawl but it didn’t affect the story. Would recommend especially if you liked Where the Crawdads Sing. Same kind of feel. Always interesting to get a glimpse into a part of a Americana you don’t normally hear about.

Historia
Craig Beck is a well-regarded family man with two children, a nice home and a successful media career. A director of several companies & at one time the trustee of a large children’s charity. Outwardly, Craig was a highly successful & functioning professional man in spite of a ‘2 bottles of wine a night’ drinking habit. For 20 years he struggled to control his drinking, all the time refusing to label himself an alcoholic because he didn't believe he met the stereotypical image that the word portrayed.

Life Changing
Revisado: 08-27-19
I cannot say enough positive things about this book. I listened to the whole thing through once. And then started again. I can honestly say I’ve never listened to four hours of more impactful messaging. I was searching for an answer and I found it. What Craig has to say is important and relevant. If you’re asking yourself do I drink too much, should I quit drinking, should I stop drinking, should I cut bad drinking, Take a break? When you’re no beer? Start here. You won’t regret it.
