Historia
Earth evolves. From first atom to molecule, mineral to magma, granite crust to single cell to verdant living landscape, ours is a planet constantly in flux. In this radical new approach to Earth’s biography, senior Carnegie Institution researcher and national best-selling author Robert M. Hazen reveals how the co-evolution of the geosphere and biosphere - of rocks and living matter - has shaped our planet into the only one of its kind in the Solar System, if not the entire cosmos.

What a great book!
Revisado: 08-09-24
Where do you start when you want to explain something? At the beginning.
This book literally starts at the beginning of time and explains in easy to understand terms how it started all the way through where it will end.
What a fantastic journey covering the complex history of earth.
As great as the subject matter is, the reader’s voice was prefect. His pace, tone and infection were all very enjoyable to listen to.
I would highly recommend this version of this book to everyone.
Who would have ever guessed that geology could be so interesting.

Historia
Polly, Annie, Elizabeth, Catherine, and Mary-Jane are famous for the same thing, though they never met. What they had in common was the year of their murders: 1888. The person responsible was never identified, but the character created by the press to fill that gap has become far more famous than any of these five women. For more than a century, newspapers have been keen to tell us that "the Ripper" preyed on prostitutes. Not only is this untrue, as historian Hallie Rubenhold has discovered, but it has prevented the real stories of these fascinating women from being told.

A deep look into the lives of women in 1890’s England.
Revisado: 03-31-21
This book painted a vivid picture of the hardship women faced in 1890’s England. I can only imagine it was no better anywhere else during that era. Each one described in such detail that you gained a sense of their true person, possibly flawed as they may have been but still someones daughters, sisters, mother, wife, friend or lover.
It’s so easy to look back in history at these gruesome murders and only focus on the murderer. I appreciate the great effort made here to remind us of the victims and how undeserving of this they were.
