Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

I couldn’t stop listening!!!
Revisado: 11-06-23
I finished this book in the span of three days! I have read multiple of Anni Taylor’s books and this is my favorite right in front of “one last child”. The reader is amazing and the accents are spot on! The last four hours of the book were gripping and shocking and I had no idea! Ugh I can’t recommend it enough! The main topics/genres were mental health, abuse, mystery, travel and thriller! Definitely read this book!

Historia
Near an isolated mansion lies a beautiful garden. In this garden grow luscious flowers, shady trees...and a collection of precious “butterflies” - young women who have been kidnapped and intricately tattooed to resemble their namesakes. Overseeing it all is the Gardener, a brutal, twisted man obsessed with capturing and preserving his lovely specimens.

Amazing psychological thriller
Revisado: 06-11-23
Serial killer psychological thriller!
I loved this book! It was written with a lot of detail, maybe sometimes it was slightly too descriptive…….but it really brought me into the world of the characters! It’s dark but very good!

Historia
America has made mental illness a crime. Jails in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago each house more people with mental illnesses than any hospital. In this revelatory book, journalist Alisa Roth goes deep inside the criminal justice system to tell how and why it has become a warehouse where inmates are denied proper treatment, abused, and punished in ways that make them sicker. Through intimate stories of people in the system and those trying to fix it, Roth reveals the hidden forces behind this crisis and suggests how a fairer and more humane approach might look.

Mental Health: Informational Read
Revisado: 06-11-23
I would recommend this book!
There are a lot of statistics and facts in this book. It can get boring at times. It took me about a month of listening to it off and on to finish it. But I really enjoyed it! I work in psych hospitals and I see the mental health system failing people on a daily basis! It’s fascinating to hear about the incarceration system side of mental health. So many heart breaking stories!

Psychological Heartbreak!
Revisado: 06-11-23
I absolutely loved this book! I listened to it all in one day! I couldn’t stop listening! Not a psychological thriller but I would say a psychological heart break.
It touches on psychiatric care, family dynamics, mental disorder of pedophilia, suicide, a mothers deep love for her children.
This book just takes you for a ride and I loved it! It is written beautifully and just descriptive enough to describe what is going on but not too descriptive like other books I have read.

Historia
Just my luck - my new next door neighbor is a unicorn. Yep, the British hottie is clearly a mythical man because - get this - he's a sexy, witty, charming, big-hearted single dad. Who, wait for it, wants to find Mrs. Right and get hitched. He’s a once-in-a-blue-moon kind of man, and it’s a darn shame I’m not on the market. If I were, his accent alone would melt me. Add in the fact that he's a veterinarian, and my animal-loving heart would be flip flopping.

"My father had more than 50 children." So begins the haunting memoir of Anna LeBaron, daughter of the notorious polygamist and murderer Ervil LeBaron. With her father wanted by the FBI for killing anyone who tried to leave his cult - a radical branch of Mormonism - Anna and her siblings were constantly on the run with the other sister-wives. Often starving and always desperate, the children lived in terror. Even though there were dozens of them together, Anna always felt alone.

Easy listening and great story!
Revisado: 01-12-23
Not for someone looking for a hard hitting mystery or murder book but very well written and fascinating to see all sides that affect someone who grew up in a cult. The narration is awesome and very soothing!
