Historia
Lady Iolanthe of Rockmourn Keep expects to be a spinster all her days. She is very tall. She is very poor. And she is thirty. What lord could possibly want her? But then her father returns with news that he has found a bridegroom for her—one that is impressively tall. One that is strong, and bold, and wealthy. And best of all? He wants Iolanthe. It seems too good to be true. And when Iolanthe gets her first look at her husband-to-be, she realizes why. No one mentioned the 'orc' part of things . . .

Not a fan
Revisado: 04-08-25
Narrators did well with what they had. Unfortunately, there was no storyline except for the sexual interactions and fizzled attempts at a plot with Iolanthe’s father. O stalk - This was essentially zoophilia which ruined the sex scenes for me - I couldn’t get the image of LOTR orc’s out of my head. I did power through trying to focus on Iolanthe and Agakor’s relationship but that ended up being dull.

Powerful, Touching, Inspiring
Revisado: 12-23-24
When you have a physical or emotional reaction to literature it’s nothing less than special. This book evokes a roller coaster of emotions and there were times I sympathized with the characters so much that I felt like I was taking part in this story. This is my third KH book, I love historical fiction and I applaud the amount of research and interviews it takes to write such an incredible story. Narrator is great!

Over Hyped Series
Revisado: 08-20-24
Too many simile’s, repetitive language, story lacked complexity, was often drawn out far too long and at times - unoriginal. The characters banter was often cheesy and became annoying. Also, the way they spoke to each other did not make me feel like this was taking place in the past. I love investing in the character build but this author breadcrumbs too much and I lost interest. Bummed because I was hoping I would enjoy this but it fell short for me. Narrator did a good job.

Historia
There are three rules Brooke Sullivan must follow as a new nurse practitioner at a men’s maximum-security prison: 1) Treat all prisoners with respect. 2) Never reveal any personal information. 3) Never EVER become too friendly with the inmates. But none of the staff at the prison knows Brooke has already broken the rules. Nobody knows about her intimate connection to Shane Nelson, one of the penitentiary’s most notorious and dangerous inmates.

Too Repetitive and Amateurish
Revisado: 02-10-24
The main character Brook was such a clueless character. Obviously meant to be easily manipulated but it was obnoxious. The author uses internal dialogue to fill the pages of the story and it got old really fast. My biggest pet peeve was how the author had Brook constantly stating the obvious to generate a trill or fright. Characters had no depth and the only remotely interesting part was the epilogue. Narrator was alright. I don’t particularly like when female narrators lower their voice to a hoarse whisper in order to imitate a male character.

Comedy and Action
Revisado: 01-26-24
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Cheesy plot and cliche characters but the nostalgia of the 80s and the comedy won me over. Narrator’s all did a good job, just not a fan of the male imitations from a female narrator (personal preference). The action was a good balance and not overdone or exaggerated. Each character had their own personalities and humor which gave it a unique balance. I listed to Krystle’s chapter trying to save her son twice I thought it was so funny. Definitely could see this becoming a movie.

Historia
On her 18th birthday, Cleo receives a mysterious invitation to a scavenger hunt. She's sure her best friend, Hope, or her brother, Connor, is behind it, but no one confesses. And as Cleo and Hope embark on the hunt, the seemingly random locations and clues begin to feel familiar. In fact, all of the clues seem to be about Cleo's dead boyfriend, Declan, who drowned on a group rafting trip exactly a year ago: a bracelet she bought him, a song he loved, a photo of the rafting group, taken just before Declan drowned.

Good for teens. Storyline is juvenile but age appropriate for mystery. Last few chapters were interesting. Narrator in audiobook had a horrible impression of the male characters. Made the Audible cringy but not in a good way.
