I wish more books could be like this: fantastic story, solidly built characters, and a unique world building dungeon exploration scenario. There's also a system that doesn't attack the listener with stats which is nice. Hurry up with book 2!!!

the legend of unimportant side characters

I feel like the author forgot who he's supposed to be writing about. No one cares about some new wanna be side hero who has more anxiety than the MC while sucking at everything except having plot armor. No on cares about some conflict between two characters who aren't important to the story yet somehow get a 1/4 of the book dedicated to their pointless side quest. Stop making new characters we don't care about while leaving well established characters to be forgotten. I can see why people give up on this series at this book.

Never have I hated an MC as much as I despise Wes. Not only is his narrative driven entirely by his dick but it's so bad to being detrimental to the story since he literally can't do anything else.

I mean he has magic but literally not even once in the book does he remember to actually use the magic he has. Outnumbered by demons? Use magic staff as blunt weapon. Outnumbered by angels? Blunt weapon. Any fight ever in the whole goddamned book? Blunt object. He has fire and wind and darkness yet he uses fire to make lights and darkness to.. keep people from bothering him. Then when he gets himself into a hopeless situation (usually by not remembering he has magic) he gets saved by.. a random cloak, a random succubus, a random warlock, and random whatever. He sucks more than all the women in his harem and the author knows that the only way this character accomplishes anything is with military grade plot armor. Fuck this MC.

Only good thing about this book is Rozelyn who is an angel for putting effort into narrating this dumpster fire of a book

Rock on Goat Dude!!

Do you like isekai but are tired of the same boring overpowered MC's who are surrounded by questionably dressed women? This book is what you've been waiting for.

Meet Jake, a former human reincarnated in hell as a goat who has decided to become the demon lord to save all of reality from collapsing. Follow as he defends his farm from "half-wits" and other treacherous former humans while scheming like the mobster he was on earth.

Honestly, half of this book was like a hilarious fever dream and I just couldn't get enough. Bring on book 2!

It's isekai slice of life, kinda

The system is broken, the gods are gone, and our MC who got truck-kuned into the new life could gaf about anything other than fishing. and Maria. Overall though if you like slice of life this one is good 👍

Narrator should stick to adult romance

I really tried but narrator just ruins it for me. Narrator, when a character is literally "screaming in agony" why do you whisper? Narrator, when the action scenes start and monsters rage, why do you get so quiet I can't tell whats happening?? Narrator, why do you read the whole book like it's a porno??? The only voices that are clear and understandable are when individual characters speak or when the voice of the system appears. The main narrating voice is way too quiet and no one wants to hear a barely audible voice describing a "scene of chaos and blood" like you're describing last night's intimate encounter. Stop ruining litrpg books like that.

All Hail His Majesty, the Ashen King, Larry!

This book is seriously fantastic! As a tree, Ashlock faces many problems most traditional Xianxia MC's would solve by running away to get stronger, which gives this book a very unique outlook on dealing with these problems.

Finding seemingly random solutions to the many near hopeless situations he finds himself in keeps the listen on the edge of their seat.

The supporting characters are well thought out and watching them grown and mature is very satisfying.

Support characters who can learn and progress through more than just interacting with the MC is very strong here. This builds a solid foundation with many opportunities for expansion the author is sure to take advantage of.

Hurry up with book 2 already!!

A great audiobook with editorial mistakes

The story, is fantastic!
The narrator was superb!
The editor dropped the ball.
Multiple dragon voices are sometimes missing the depth effect and the narrator's voice sounds odd without it.
Otherwise, I can't wait for book 4!
