While the story does keep to a simple delivery, I do believe it will easily find its mark in fans of stories like Seven Deadly Sins, or Enchanted Arms.
The author/narrator does apply himself fully, and that is always a great sign.
I am only knocking one star and shortening my review slightly from what I posted for the ebook on Amazon, because this is the third or 4th time I’ve reviewed this book, and the book should settle into this form, now.

To begin with, those who have read Journey of Ike know that the only real thing to complain about is wanting more…be prepared to have that feeling kicked up a notch.
All of the awesomeness of the story is heightened by Nathan Helm’s arsenal of voices. If that’s not enough for you, a few effects are modestly applied to accentuate the story. The use of setting sounds at the beginning of each chapter is a delight that helps us engage the scene.
So, once again, we have more reason to shout out: “WE WANT MORE!”

Aliens, demons, futuristic tech and anime style action? This has all of it! We have personal inner struggles taking center stage as our heroes our given powers that force them to monitor how they handle justice, and their interactions with their loved ones. This makes it an epic journey and war for the survival of human kind.
The only thing I would criticize is that we don’t spend enough time with the villains and their motives.
The narration is awesome, often using a bit of improvisation to increase the magnitude.
Also, on a note from one geek to another, don’t think I don’t see another dragon ball fan. The actions scenes have a very similar feel, and I’m all for it.
Keep it coming, Mr. Knight. I have a feeling you won’t give me anything to complain about as you go.

Well, maybe not all of them, yet, but I have a feeling Debbie Champion will get to that.
This was an extremely fun listen. For fans of Rick Riordan’s Magnus Chase series, you will find a delightful alternative outlet in the Cursed Sword, with references to some of the legends not used before. Our mc Alex Thornnson is charged with saving the world via a legendary cursed weapon. There are many journeys along the way that range from Svatalfhein to Losalfheim, and it’s a fun adventure all around.
The narration was flawless as well, and I can’t think of anything to criticize.
Well done, Debbie Champion! I’ll be looking forward to more of this series.

I wanted to have a good laugh in my listens one day, and I selected the one of the best for the job. As always: Mr. Carr did not disappoint! Our Armageddon event of comedy is kicked off, not by grand design, or any other Omen style events, but with as much comedy to start as it is to finish. I want to say so much more, but I don’t want spoilers to rob the laughter listeners will inevitably experience.
The narration is also supreme! Which brings me to my only complaint…
Mr. Carr, your sound team is obviously state of the art, working tirelessly to bring your audience audio effects that take us to the moment, and put us on the edge of our seats. For such equipment as they used to bring us this wonderful experience, they clearly deserve a raise!

Right off the bat, I got excited because it sets up with a backdrop like Ray Bradbury’s ‘Something Wicked This Way Comes’. With a rural suburban location that only seemed idyllic from the outside, there were hopes in a place that could be called forlorn and tragic under the surface. I thought we were in for some real Needful Things happening, and I was excited.
So, my only disappointment is that we don’t get more about the origin and purpose of the circus. The evil feels maybe a little coincidental and unconnected. Tragic events ramp up around it, but there’s nothing to say it’s not just the negative half of the human condition. Also, I would have liked to see the same attention and detail given to the circus as was given to the people.
It’s not a bad story, though. I still recommend it for listening.

I’m a paranormal enthusiast, so this seemed like some solid fun for listening.
Starting with the story…
There was a bit of length to the starting descriptions. I can understand the need for it, as once the scene is thoroughly set, the author is free to plunge us straight into the bulk of the story. It’s a good idea, but there is the risk that some listeners may get bored of that. However, once the rhythm shifts to the paranormal, starting with some ominous mundane events and backdrop, that is when it gets exciting.
On a side note, may be it was just the times, but the dialogue felt a little wooden in places. That might also be in part from my next assessment.
Narration: Caleb Monroe holds a voice with a great deal of potential for ominous and horrifying fiction. It has a feel that reminds me of the opening narration to the first resident evil movie. There is just one issue I have. I would like to see some tone variations that compliment the story to the moments as best as possible. This isn’t to be confused with doing different voices to characters,
Aside from that, it was good; much better than some mainstream horror floating on audible, so I really hope to see more.

Having read and enjoyed Second Chance, I was eager to jump into Broken Blade. I was not disappointed!
The narration is still perfectly on track, but there wasn’t anything to complain about during Second Chance, so I imagine the narration will maintain its quality for the duration of Endworld Everlasting.
I was pleasantly surprised to find the challenges our heroes face aren’t just leveled up, with higher powers. Most of them carry unique elements that test the heroes in deeper ways. We get a new spread of characters with colorful personalities, and challenged not to see things only in the way it’s visually presented. Personal histories of the Endworlders come into play, and mysteries abound. And if you think that dismisses the action, that would be incorrect. If anything, battles and conflicts come more frequently in Broken Blade, while personal struggles abound, adding a mixture of layers into the story.
There are minute story elements for one or two characters I might nitpick, but I won’t spoil the story, and it’s so small it might even be missed by anyone else. And I am confident it will fade in due time with proper story progression, anyway. (Just a matter of patience)
To conclude, if you are looking for a deep, emotionally charged, high action litrpg for some riveting listening, I highly recommend Battle Mage Reborn and get caught up before the third release.

So, first thing to talk about is narration: excellent! Narrator keeps on the emotional rhythm of each scene, keeping the right dialogue inflections which only enhance the engagement.
So, next the part I am excited about: the story itself. I haven’t had too many experiences with litrpg, and some of them were less than memorable. I’ve generally run into low stakes power fantasies that border being an Isekai…not my thing.
This is not that! Stakes: this is their afterlife, and Denton Wade is thrust into it. We are told this is a projection of their mind, but how much of their actual soul is in there? It’s a question you ask a lot, and it weighs as much as a tank. Knowing that, they don’t just get to log out when it gets too harry, and it makes you wince at all the tech errors that only annoy us every day.
So, that leaves us looking at life in end world. It’s not the same as most litrpgs. What we would otherwise call npcs are actually people with lives, backstories, and they add depth the story. And not every ‘Traveller’ (the way mr Frost uses that makes me think of Forbidden Kingdom, I love that movie) is an adventurer. Some of them choose to live and work, side by side, with the townsfolk.
Then we have our mc: Denton Wade. I like the fact that his growth is both gradual and believable. He struggles in the beginning, owning next to nothing, and making many mistakes. (Be new to mmorpg and see if you don’t make mistakes on your first few times, without help, I dare ya) and we see each stage and victory of his growth. Also, I love the perspective that ever Traveller is the chosen one in their own story.
Put it all together, and this really got my attention. I like to listen at work, and this blurred time. I will be listening to Broken Blade, next

Broken Reality Audiolibro Por Nathan Helm arte de portada

Good old fashioned explosive fun!

So, what happens when you combine highlander, with a combination of high action anime? Kingdom Society, ofcourse, and the Sci fi blend offered by Broken Reality only ramps it up from the Black Hood. I did read this in kindle, and there is more to be found in that review, but I cannot emphasize enough how layered and individual Korath is as an antagonist, or how the consequences of vengeance find their way to Alyeth.
On the fun side. Readers may be entertained by the array of worlds being presented. (There is one that reminds me of a straight up scene from f-zero) and Kingdom Society is innately good at a fusion concept of Seven Deadly Sins with a bit of Chronotrigger for unique flavoring.
So, that leaves narration: done very well. Mr. Helm provides a solid mix of voices for all his characters. I am particularly fond of his use of a Sean Connery style voice. In the character choice, it definitely made me think of Ramirez from Highlander.
Well, this is far from the end of the series, so this is my review cheering him on for more!
