not worth the time
Revisado: 10-29-20
The narrator struggled gamely with text that was shallow, uninformative and impractical. I couldn't get past chapter 2

Get closer to events you may only have heard about from school books with these first person accounts of key moments in recent world history. In each episode we explore pertinent dates from 1936 to 2010 and find out what happened through the eyes of those who were there. Crossing the globe and drawing on events in London, Mexico City and Afghanistan to name but a few we hear stories including takes from an athlete, journalist, chess player and soldier.

Great if you can ignore the production
Revisado: 09-24-18
Good topics, but it's hard to assess the writing, structure and conclusions when the special effects/music are set so loud they obscure the words. Not for people with any kind of auditory issues.

This series is great. It seems well-researched, the topics are interesting, and the episodes appear well-written. Unfortunately, I can't listen to these because the soundtracks - music and sound effects - are set to such a high level that it's very hard to distiguish the words if you have auditory issues. I missed too much while concentrating hard to be able to enjoy or learn anything. This applies to all 3 of the episodes I listened to.

Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

What happens if murder suddenly failed?
Revisado: 07-26-18
Thoroughly weird and creatively thought-out world. I enjoyed the implications of the Dispatchers and how society would respond t the phenomenon. For me the actual mystery was secondary to the characters and the culture and I really enjoyed it
