Historia
Jane Austen fan Amelia Bennett sneaks away from a dull tour of an English country manor, only to run into a man more dashing than Mr. Darcy himself. About to lose his ancestral home to family debts, charming aristocrat Tom Calder invites his American guest to join him in drinking his way through the estate’s priceless wine collection. But when they wake in his bed the next morning, they’re convinced that in their drunken haze they witnessed a murder. Problem is, the body has vanished and no one believes them.

What is fun story, well you know.

It was over too quickly. Even though I know that was a good place to stop. I always like to know more about the characters in the end.

Lots of fun, few annoyances.
Revisado: 10-21-23
I mostly I love this series, there are just a couple of things that, although I guess are quite central to the stories, seem to annoy me. The James and Agatha the situation, and the Krast behavior of Agatha can both get a bit annoying and tiresome. Other than that, I really do love the stories. I also liked that they actually showed a nice side of Agatha in this book. I will definitely be getting the next one. I do love the narrator, she does an absolutely wonderful job.

I wish this was a series.
Revisado: 09-19-23
I really do wish this was a series because I love the characters and the stories. This was my first Rayburn book, and I was very pleasantly surprised as it was a random grab. I noticed most of the other books are historical fiction which I am going to try, but I would say also that this is a great genre for her as well.

Historia
Here are the thrills, grandeur, and unabashed fun of the Greek myths, stylishly retold by Stephen Fry. The legendary writer, actor, and comedian breathes life into ancient tales, from Pandora's box to Prometheus's fire, and transforms the adventures of Zeus and the Olympians into emotionally resonant and deeply funny stories, without losing any of their original wonder. Learned notes from the author offer rich cultural context. This volume is a doorway into a captivating world.

Greek Myths, and Stephen Fry, perfect.
Revisado: 07-04-23
I cannot think of a better way to listen to, and enjoy along with a few explanations, very helpful, Greek mythology. Such a huge and pretty confusing, for the Lehman, subject. I am definitely going to be listening to it again. My favorite way to learn, or should I say revisit, Greek mythology. Thank you, Stephen Fry.

Revisado: 02-19-23
Such a fun, entertaining book. I wasn’t sure how they were going to portray the queen and the story to make it not too fantastical. They did a wonderful job and I would very much look forward to more books. I also very much like her private secretary. Please introduce more of these wonderful novels.

Historia
It is the early spring of 2016 and Queen Elizabeth is at Windsor Castle in advance of her 90th birthday celebrations. But the preparations are interrupted when a guest is found dead in one of the Castle bedrooms. The scene suggests the young Russian pianist strangled himself, but a badly tied knot leads MI5 to suspect foul play was involved. The Queen leaves the investigation to the professionals—until their suspicions point them in the wrong direction. Unhappy at the mishandling of the case and concerned for her staff's morale, the monarch decides to take matters into her own hands.

Wonderful fun
Revisado: 02-08-23
I absolutely loved the story even though I was a bit hesitant at first about a modern queen Elizabeth. The characters were wonderful, and the telling was perfect. The narrator did an excellent excellent job, and I hope that she narrates all of the books. I’m excited to read, or should I say here, the rest in the series.

Historia
When editor Susan Ryeland is given the manuscript of Alan Conway's latest novel, she has no reason to think it will be much different from any of his others. After working with the best-selling crime writer for years, she's intimately familiar with his detective, Atticus Pünd, who solves mysteries disturbing sleepy English villages. An homage to queens of classic British crime such as Agatha Christie and Dorothy Sayers, Alan's traditional formula has proved hugely successful.

Wonderful, captivating story that just keeps you hooked.
Revisado: 12-01-22
I very much enjoyed this book and many times I thought it was going to end, and that would’ve made me very angry indeed. Happily, everything for the most part was explained and sorted by the end. Being as I am someone who loves happy ending, It was only a slight annoyance at the end of the book, but it did not stop me enjoying it and recommending it to anyone who is looking for a fun murder mystery. Happy reading.

Historia
Peter Mayle and his wife had been to Provence as tourists. They had dreamed of one day trading the long, grey winters and damp summers of England for the blue skies and sunshine of the coast of southern France. And then they made it happen. They moved into an old farmhouse at the foot of the Luberon mountains and embarked on a wonderful, if at times bewildering, new life.

I did not know what to expect out of this book, but I am so glad that I gave it a shot. I loved everything about it, most especially the characters in it. I found myself wishing that I could meet them and just enjoy everything. It has sad bits but they are told with such a wonderful hint of humor that you just smile. Thank you for sharing this wonderful story with everyone that reads this or listens to it I should say. I can only imagine how wonderful your own personal spot of France please

The one thing she has to look forward to is her book club, a close-knit group of Charleston women united by their love of true crime and paperback fiction. At these meetings they're as likely to talk about the Manson family as they are marriage, motherhood, and neighborhood gossip.

Revisado: 06-06-22
At the end of this book I was extremely disappointed and confused on what really what the actual plot was. The end was missing some thing for closure and the lack of humor was really what struck me. I really want it to like it as I had pictured girlfriends having fun but that is not how it ended up.

Historia
Bill Bryson once again proves himself to be an incomparable companion as he guides us through the human body - how it functions, its remarkable ability to heal itself, and (unfortunately) the ways it can fail. Full of extraordinary facts (your body made a million red blood cells since you started reading this) and irresistible Bryson-esque anecdotes, The Body will lead you to a deeper understanding of the miracle that is life in general and you in particular. As Bill Bryson writes, "We pass our existence within this wobble of flesh and yet take it almost entirely for granted."

The fascinating story of our bodies.
Revisado: 02-26-22
I wasn’t sure what to expect but I can happily say it was way better and more interesting and more captivating than I ever could’ve imagined. I initially bought it because I love Bill Bryson and anything he writes so I thought it must be good but once I started listening to it I was absolutely captivated. Bill Bryson was a bit flat on his delivery but then again he can be that way but I’m not sure if it would be better a different way or not. I know I am going to listen to it more times because it is just so much information to retain. I have absolutely recommended it to many many of my friends and family. It really is fascinating. I would recommend it to any medical student or person who would like to possibly go that route in their lives. He really is so much fun and his dry sense of humor definitely brings a little bit extra to every story he tells even the human body.
