Too short
Revisado: 11-21-16
It was really good for what it was. The performance was great and the soundtrack and sound effects were appreciated.
My problem was with the length. The whole thing was around 1 hour. I used a credit, but if I'd paid for it outright it would have been a price I really regretted paying. Still this credit would have been better spent on a longer story.

I have spoken with many of my fans and readers over the years that are getting by month to month on a mortgage and are always calling me to ask how to make a basic website. I went through enough accounting of home owners over the years with afraid of a big firm with a contract to get their website towed by fee's when all they needed was a simple product or services page and a PayPal link to make the small difference of money per month to be stress free from worries about the bank.

There really wasn't much in the way of programming here, mostly just how to run a Web design business. if that's what you want, that's great, but the author seemed a little too eager to tell you what you want to hear ($120k/year!) without going into any of the hard details.
Also, the reader cleared his throat and I believe spit at one point. Couldn't they have done another take? That strikes me as unprofessional.
other than those gripes it wasn't bad for less than $5. You'd be better off with a real book, I think.

Not the best, not the worst
Revisado: 07-10-14
Would you try another book from Christie Golden and/or Marisa Vitali?
I have already read another Christie Golden novel and that's part of why I chose this one. Marisa Vitali has a lovely voice, and is an talented voice actress, though I feel she might not have been the best choice for such an ugly, despair-filled story.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Larisa, the protagonist, was my favorite character. She was treated to the whole "hero's quest" story arc.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Pace, yes. Tone, no. As stated earlier, I believe Vitali was a bit too... cheerful with her tone, even when things were dark. Nothing against her, I just don't think it clicked for me.
Do you think Dance of the Dead needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Nope. The story's over, and everyone can move on with their lives.

Not a bad story
Revisado: 07-10-14
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I absolutely love the Ravenloft world, so it's probably no surprise that the stories tend to let me down from time to time. At times, this story almost had the oppressively hopeless atmosphere right, at other times it seemed too much like your standard fantasy adventure fare. There were a few plot points I felt didn't really go anywhere, unless they were meant to be red herrings, and I feel they missed out on a lot of possibilities.
Overall I enjoyed it well enough, though if I had to recommend other novels from the Ravenloft series I'd pick "Vampire of the Mists," "I, Strahd" volumes 1 and 2, and "Knight of the Black Rose" over this one.
If you’ve listened to books by Elaine Bergstrom before, how does this one compare?
I have not listened to any of the others.
What about Christine Williams and Nick Sullivan ’s performance did you like?
I like that the narrative was split between a male reader for the male protagonist's section and a female reader for the female protagonist. This definitely helped with the immersion factor of the story.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
I would. I feel like it had a lot of potential for some of the more grisly effects we see in movies nowadays. Again, though, there were a lot of missed opportunities.
