Historia
I am sure a lot of people hear me credit Marie Kondo’s book for saving me, and think I am wildly exaggerating, but it really was the case. Decluttering, organising, and creating systems in our home was the self-care I needed, and although I will happily admit to not being perfect on this front, it has made enough of a difference that life really does feel calm and easier. In this episode I look at 5 points that make decluttering a form of self-care. 1. Stress reduction2. Improved lifestyle3. Better work/life balance4. Living more intentionally5. Improved relationshipsCaroline Thor - ...

Very motivating!
Revisado: 12-07-22
Hearing the benefits of decluttering and how stress is reduced is encouraging and gives me motivation to start the process.

Really bad
Revisado: 09-12-22
I feel like I wasted several hours of my life listening to this as the ending made no sense. I've liked the other books by this author but this one was poorly done and didn't hold together. The narrator was very good however.

Frustrating!
Revisado: 06-11-22
I loved the first part of the book but the twist in the latter part didn’t make sense and it felt like the character development was all for naught. I usually like this author’s twists in her books but not this time. Very good description of the setting, however, and I visually felt like I was there.

Historia
Alexis Spencer thinks she has it all figured out. Even when life gets her down, she’s never too far away from another inspirational quote to rationalize her failures and ignore all her problems. Her boyfriend breaks it off, she loses her job, her closest friends are a distant memory, and her college debt is still as high as the day she left. In typical fashion, she blames the world for her problems, including her 18-year-old self who should have just tried harder and put their life on a better track.

Very unlikeable main character
Revisado: 05-17-22
I really wanted to like this book as the premise was intriguing. However, the narrator's grating voice and the dialogue of a woman with major entitlement issues made it difficult to keep going. It did get better at the very end but it was distasteful to listen to just to get there. Aghhh!!

Exhausting!
Revisado: 09-23-21
I love this author but this book needed several hours of dialogue edited out.
The back and forth presuppositions and suppositions just tired me out to the point of not really caring who did what by the end. I had such great hopes for it when I first started reading it but no, I would not recommend it.

With his career flagging, Jim is determined to make the most of the opportunity. But the director raises the stakes, pushing Jim to draw inspiration for the script from his strained relationship with his wife Anna.

Nice island setting but that’s about it!
Revisado: 05-21-21
The narration was way overdone and overly dramatic—at times I just cracked up it was so bad. Hard to focus on the storyline which was not that enjoyable. I listened to it just to mentally escape to an island. Very difficult to keep listening to the end with the self-absorbed characters.

Way too much filler and repeated words. Very unlikeable main character.

When you get the right balance in life, you can do amazing things: create, perform, lead a team, build a great company, raise a family. But so often the scales tip, and we feel overwhelmed and stressed. Michael Townsend Williams, an adman turned yoga teacher and mindfulness coach, is an advocate of 'welldoing' - leading a busy and productive life, but not at the expense of our health and well-being. And key to this? Our breath.

NOT a book on breathing!
Revisado: 10-16-20
I listened to the sample which was about breathing but after purchasing the book not much more was mentioned on it. Instead the author throws out lists and lists of things to do—I ended up feeling overwhelmed and anxious which was the opposite of what I was looking for.

Historia
Marianne has a life others dream of. A beautiful townhouse on the best street in the neighbourhood. Three bright children who are her pride and joy. Sometimes her past still hurts: losing her mother early, growing up in foster care. But her husband, Simon, is always there. A successful surgeon, he’s the envy of every woman they’ve ever met. Flowers, gifts, trips to France: nothing is too good for his family. Then Simon says another woman’s name. The way he lingers on it, Caroline, gives Marianne a shudder of suspicion, but she knows it’s nothing - she can’t entertain this flash of paranoia.

Cat vs Mouse—but who’s who?
Revisado: 07-16-20
Twisty tale of revenge gone haywire. It kept me up late listening until
I finished it the next day. It’s nice to listen to a thriller that you don’t figure out the end to within the first hour of the book.I quickly got used to the “older” narrator’s voice that other reviewers complained of so that didn’t bother me. Most of the characters were very unlikeable but hey, it’s a psychological thriller not a romance. Definitely worth a listen. Just don’t expect to get much done once you start listening.
