Historia

While his son, Edward, has been named his successor, there are other Saxon claimants to the throne - as well as ambitious pagan Vikings to the north. great story!!
Revisado: 02-19-22
love the writing and the story! I dislike the change of narrators between books in the series. I also dislike how names and locations are pronounced so differently. I've been an audible member since 1999. I have listened to several series that have used multiple narrators in the past. I would have recommended a pronunciation guide for the narrator to keep consistency.

this is a rare time I didn't enjoy the book
Revisado: 06-25-20
I saw the poor ratings from others, but really wanted to like it. I've listened to all other AC books here on Audible and there was not a single redeeming segment. the story is poorly formed, and the narrator was not as successful in bringing the characters to life. I had a hard time with him sounding clear or mispronouncing words. that stuff takes me out of the zone and I can't get back in the story.

Historia
Members of the military’s special operations branches share a closely guarded secret: They love their jobs. They relish the opportunity to fight. They are thankful for it, even, and hopeful that maybe they’ll get to kill a bunch of bad guys while they’re at it. You don’t necessarily need to thank them for their service - the pleasure is all theirs. In this hilarious and personal memoir, listeners ride shotgun alongside former Army Ranger and private military contractor and current social media phenomenon Mat Best, into the action and its aftermath, both abroad and at home.

very disappointed
Revisado: 12-21-18
the speech of the narrator was very muddled and difficult to understand. let me preface that I thoroughly enjoyed the previous books. this one was very unbelievable and as someone who has been to war many times, am growing very tired of the use of PTSD as a plot device in this series.

Will Wheaton, you too are a genius! That was a great reading. Now I’m torn between you and Scott Brick as my favorite narrator. I loved how this book brought me back to my youth with all of the references. It was a awesome story. Made me think about me and my TRS-80 16k Color Computer.
