Historia
December 1874. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are looking forward to a traditional Christmas with plenty of food, alcohol, and the odd duel. But then Death meets Elizabeth, a young girl with unusual gifts, who needs their protection. When other children start going missing throughout London and the Prime Minister himself asks for their help, they have to put down the brandy and mince pies to solve the mystery while—as usual—saving the world from an unspeakable horror.

Can’t wait for more!
Revisado: 04-16-25
I love everything about this series. The characters are quirky, brave, and fun, the dialogue is smart and engaging, the story is captivating and the narrator captures the tone and feeling of every character. There is just enough action to keep one in suspense without the endless battles some books engage in. Love these books and I can’t wait for the next installment. I wouldn’t hate it if this was turned into a television series…as long as it stays true to the characters and some nitwit doesn’t ruin it.

In the second installment of Dianne Duvall's Immortal Guardians series, when Marcus Grayden's grief over the loss of the woman he loved causes him to become reckless, he is assigned a new Second, who proves to be immensely distracting. Contains mature themes.

Preachy

This was torture. I read the first book in the series and it was okay. I liked Marcus’ character so I read the 2nd book. I couldn’t finish. The author goes on and on as nauseum about organic food and how most people eat junk. She waxes poetic on the nutrition of organic produce and denounces anyone that eats a burger. I actually eat like the characters in these books and I recycle and I care about the environment but I do not want to be preached to in my fantasy books. She clearly doesn’t care for the younger generations or the way they dress. When she took a turn into Amy’s story and basically wrote that humans are cockroaches on the earth...to go into environmental rants, I had to stop. Just no. I don’t care to read any of the other books and it’s a shame because the stories had real promise. They follow a formula and there weren’t many surprises but I could deal with that. The constant preaching ruined these books for me completely.
