Historia
It's Christmas time in Caerphilly, and the town is preparing for their live nativity. During rehearsals, Meg discovers a real baby in the manger, with a note attached that says the mother is leaving the baby girl there so that her father can take care of her, and the wording of the note implicates Meg's brother, Rob, as the father. Rob protests that he can't possibly be the father, but the town's suspicion creates a rift between him and his new girlfriend. Rob asks Meg to investigate on his behalf‚ to clear his name and to find the real parents of the baby.

Boring, dronish, nonessentials,
Revisado: 02-04-23
We found ourselves asking what the premises of this book was time after time. Enriched with the deductions of a want-to-be detective who take 99% of the books listen/read assuming what was next. Drab at best

Historia
Take one mermaid, one dismayed young man, and an upper-class social set - and mix well for the frothiest classic since topper! In the tradition of Thorne Smith's Topper and Ron Howard's Splash comes this 1935 madcap romantic fantasy of an ordinary man whose life is turned upside-down and backward when he rescues a charming, but utterly uninhibited mermaid. From the leading romance magazine of its time, The Naughty Mermaid is available for the first time ever in audiobook form.

Historia
When Jenny inherits her estranged grandmother’s cottage in Sherwood Forest, she has nothing to lose - no money, no job, no friends, no family to speak of, and zero self-respect. Things can only get better.... Her grumpy but decidedly handsome new neighbour, Mack, has a habit of bestowing unsolicited good deeds on her. And when Jenny is welcomed into a rather unusual book club, life seems to finally be getting more interesting. Instead of reading, the members pledge to complete individual challenges before Christmas.

I only wish I could give a full review
Revisado: 01-07-22
I found this short introduction be entertaining. Sadly, I can not give a full, honest review as it is only a prequel that consists of a few chapters. I equate it to a longer version of a sample, a tease if you will. Thank you for the opportunity to listen.

Was pretty good for a short, free listen. The story at first was a little compelling and then faded off, the ending a bit hackish. The Narrator was talented and enjoyable to listen to.

Historia
When you listen to Lily and the Octopus, you will be taken on an unforgettable ride. The magic of this novel is in the listening, and we don't want to spoil it by giving away too many details. We can tell you that this is a story about that special someone: the one you trust, the one you can't live without. For Ted Flask, that someone special is his aging companion, Lily, who happens to be a dog.

Loved the narration but found the overall storyline to be a little strange. I wish they would bill each book's description as what it truly is and not what will sell the book.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

Starts slow, gains speed, predictable ending.

I did not enjoy this book at all though it did show promise a few hours in. Predictable ending that was flat as though the author got as bored writing it as I did listening to it.
