Historia
Off the shore of Costa Rica, the Navy command ship USS Coronado launches an all-out assault against one of the most powerful drug lords in Central America. The high-tech fist of the US military is poised to come down like a sledgehammer. Everything is going according to plan until the quiet jungle erupts in a chaos of blood, shrapnel, and fire. When CIA operative Rick Holden and Naval Intelligence Officer Laura Peters begin investigating the circumstances of the ambush, they uncover something much more sinister than a failed military operation.

Terrible
Revisado: 07-31-23
So many military details just plain wrong. Could have been a good book, the story premise was okay, if the author had any grounding in reality.

Historia
James Flynn is an expert shot, a black belt in karate, fluent in four languages, and irresistible to women. He’s also a heavily medicated patient in a Los Angeles psychiatric hospital. Flynn believes his locked ward is the HQ of Her Majesty’s Secret Service. When the hospital is acquired by a new HMO, Flynn is convinced that the Secret Service has been infiltrated by the enemy. He escapes to save the day, and in the process, Flynn kidnaps a young Hispanic orderly named Sancho. This crazy day trip turns into a very real adventure when Flynn is mistaken for an actual secret agent.

Fun listen.

Pretty fun parody of conventional spy novels, with modern action and slight social commentary.

Historia
In Olen Steinhauer’s best seller An American Spy, reluctant CIA agent Milo Weaver thought he had finally put "Tourists" - CIA-trained assassins - to bed. A decade later, Milo is hiding out in Western Sahara when a young CIA analyst arrives to question him about a series of suspicious deaths and terrorist chatter linked to him. Their conversation is soon interrupted by a new breed of Tourists intent on killing them both, forcing them to run. As he tells his story, Milo is joined by colleagues and enemies from his long history in the world of intelligence.

Good series ruined by author's liberal politics.
Revisado: 06-25-22
Great performance by David Pittu.
Olen Steinhauer has always shown some of his political leanings in his other works, but this book really took that too far. Poorly researched and full of emotional claptrap, this book has turned me off from purchasing further works from Steinhauer.

Historia
When SEAL Team Six killed Osama bin Laden, they pulled a treasure trove of intelligence on planned attacks on U.S. soil. Ayman al-Zawahiri, al Qaeda's new leader, is activating his most trusted (and deadliest) terrorists to carry out his newest plot: to detonate a bomb inside one of the 64 commercial nuclear power plants in the U.S. in an attack 10 times worse than 9/11, causing radiological fallout that would kill hundreds of thousands of innocent Americans.

Sloppy timelines and huge plot holes.
Revisado: 03-19-19
As usual, the combat scenes are pretty good, although sloppily edited. Seriously, Fury knows that it's .40 cal, not 40mm pistol.
Timelines did not add up throughout, and the plot just jumped around with little explanation or grace. Huge plot holes showed up several times, such as when the guard is lauded as a hero in the media, but his identity is still used as Colt's cover? Bad guys don't read newspapers? And when exactly did Timothy become a Muslim?
Dalton Fury's lack of research into the power industry is very apparent. The technology and procedures used in this story are laughable. I expected so much more from this author, based on his previous works.

Historia
Throughout these books, Follett has followed the fortunes of five intertwined families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they make their way through the twentieth century. Now they come to one of the most tumultuous eras of all: the enormous social, political, and economic turmoil of the 1960s through the 1980s, from civil rights, assassinations, mass political movements and Vietnam to the Berlin Wall, the Cuban Missile Crisis, presidential impeachment, revolution - and rock and roll.

liberal revisionist nonsense.
Revisado: 03-08-19
I'm glad I read Ken follett's other works before this because now I'll never read anything by him again. This was terrible. what a horrible way to cap off was started as a great trilogy.
