Historia
Boy (Tim Heidecker) is a dog who is tired of being held back by humans. When he wakes one morning to find his owner dead, he assumes there’s no one left to stop him from achieving his goal of being a wild and majestic wolf. Unfortunately, he’s about to meet Rebecca (Patti Harrison), a lifelong slacker who is out to prove to her roommates (Poppy Liu and Danny Pudi) that she’s not a total loser by getting a job as a dog walker for a start-up called Bow-Now.

Not very clever, bad sound quality
Revisado: 02-12-24
It wasn't a very good story, and the sound quality was awful. The voices were the same volume as the too many extra sound effects, so it was a little hard to understand

Historia
Patrick, or Gay Uncle Patrick (GUP, for short), has always loved his niece, Maisie, and nephew, Grant. That is, he loves spending time with them when they come out to Palm Springs for weeklong visits, or when he heads home to Connecticut for the holidays. But in terms of caretaking and relating to two children, no matter how adorable, Patrick is, honestly, overwhelmed. So when tragedy strikes and Maisie and Grant lose their mother and Patrick's brother has a health crisis of his own, Patrick finds himself suddenly taking on the role of primary guardian.

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

I really enjoyed this psychological thriller, with unexpected twists and turns. I have recommend it to my friends, even before I finished it. The ending wasn't as satisfying as the rest of the story, but I still enjoyed it very much. The narrators were excellent.

I wanted it to be a book.
Revisado: 09-02-19
I wanted plots. It was more just slice of life bits with no plot. A book would have been nice, to develop the characters and stories. The narration was flat, like the reader was bored. A professional reader is a good idea.

Helpful and Clearly Stated

Can be used for lots of purposes. I am not a salesman but sometimes want to persuade someone. The book doesn't have a lot of extra verbiage. To the point.

New York, 1888. Gas lamps still flicker in the city streets, but the miracle of electric light is in its infancy. A young untested lawyer named Paul Cravath, fresh out of Columbia Law School, takes a case that seems impossible to win. Interesting, Engaging, Great storytelling
Revisado: 09-13-18
I have to admit that I was not looking forward to reading the almost non-fiction book for my book club, but truly enjoyed it. The reader was excellent, too. It was a well told tale that read like a detective novel.

Historia
We are accustomed to think of sociopaths as violent criminals, but in The Sociopath Next Door, Harvard psychologist Martha Stout reveals that a shocking 4 percent of ordinary people, one in 25, has an often undetected mental disorder, the chief symptom of which is that that person possesses no conscience. He or she has no ability whatsoever to feel shame, guilt, or remorse. One in 25 everyday Americans, therefore, is secretly a sociopath.

Didn't Learn Much
Revisado: 02-19-18
I did not learn as much about sociopaths as I had hoped. Most of the examples were extreme sociopaths who murder or steal and not the everyday sociopath that you run across at work or in your family. The author lays out 13 rules to deal with a sociopath, and you can get this list from the internet.

Thad Carhart never realized there was a gap in his life until he happened upon Desforges Pianos, a demure little shopfront in his Paris neighborhood that seemed to want to hide rather than advertise its wares. Like Alice in Wonderland, he found his attempts to gain entry rebuffed at every turn. An accidental introduction finally opened the door to the quartier's oddest hangout.
