“Only on Audible” books have the worst editing!

I’m 30-40 minutes in and I’ve already wasted at least 2 minutes listening to the narrator repeat the same lines with varying emphasis within the text. Like, it’s great that there’s a level of commitment to trying to present with some personality, but you don’t have to show your work!
This publication requires an editor who listens to the output. I’m curious enough to continue for now but I don’t have the patience (or emotional regulation, this author might say) to stick with this if those issues persist.

Academic. Wasn’t looking for debate coach or collegiate competition tips. Maybe there’s some real-world applicability further along, but I wouldn’t know. I dropped this course and will return to the registrar to see what else might still have seats available.

This book has so many terrible qualities. The recommendations aren't novel and have no depth. The author provides examples of his own success, but nothing specifically actionable for the reader/listener. At least 40% of the book seems to be a "Study Session", in which the lengthy anecdotes are repeated and abbreviated. It feels like too much fluff. The author cautions against arrogance, but emphasizes repeatedly that being poor is a Choice. It's pretty clear that he can't discern differences between high-income folks who need investment discipline, the working class living paycheck-to-paycheck, and those most in need. Classifying everyone else as "poor" paints with a broad brush and serves no benefit.
He cites the TV celebrity and failed casino owner Trump as a personal hero, saying that he considers how the fraudster might act when negotiating a deal. He mentions tithing and spirituality as a means of gaining wealth, too.
The author acknowledges he's not a good writer (couldn't agree more), and boasts about his sales prowess (the only way he might have gotten this thing published eventually). The last chapter of the book pushes continued education and seminars (of which his company hosts many) and it just feels like an empty con. I'll be asking for my money back.

I didn’t enjoy the narrator’s voice, nor character voices. The characters were interesting, but the plot too much of a stretch. There was one twist mid-story that was an interesting development, but the ending was horrible. So much buildup, then a complete collapse and reveal. Lame.

The book begins with an interesting enough concept, though the content remains abstract and short on practical examples. With many references to people who think themselves
too fat, thin, or otherwise physically flawed, this feels like it’s written for someone with terrible self-esteem. Religious references are peppered-in and don’t add clarity besides announcing the author’s perspective. By the time Chapter 9 began (and when I couldn’t bear to listen anymore), the story had gone Full Sunday School with too many mentions of talking snakes and bible allegory.
Wish I could’ve finished it but I’ll be requesting a refund/exchange instead.

This one-man play makes you feel like you’re there — at the Minetta Lane Theatre! — bored to tears and watching a grown man bicker with himself. I’m not sure what’s worse: the ponderous repetition, the indistinct character voices, or the slow story development. At 40 minutes in, it’s clear what the conflicts are, but it felt like we could have gotten to them in 5 minutes if it wasn’t poorly acted out. That would leave a lot more time for story development and less indulgence in conversation that goes nowhere.
I’m a fan of Aasif Mandvi, but not this performance. This was a free download and yet I feel like I want my money back.
