Simon Prebble is one of my favorite narrators and I will sometimes select books just based upon Prebble being the narrator BUT he's just not the right narrator for this series. Falco is a bit of a rogue and Prebble's tony accent just doesn't work for the role. The story itself is good - I had read the book a long time ago and liked it enough to hear it as an encore. Too bad, I really love this series and this is the second Falco book I've tried with Prebble as narrator but my ear just doesn't hear Falco when Prebble speaks.

Would you try another book from Rhys Bowen and/or Katherine Kellgren?

I have read ALL of the Royal Spyness books and will likely continue to do so but with decreasing enjoyment. I share the views of others that I'm getting tired of the lack of growth in Georgie. Her insecurities around Darcy are getting very old. She KNOWS that he does "special assignments" which has him play roles, every time she has been jealous/insecure its been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was and continues to be faithful AND he has ALWAYS come to her rescue - so why the continued insecurity? Also its time for them to become a partnership like Nick and Nora or Lord Peter and Harriet or for that matter Tommy and Tuppence. Hopefully, this is what is coming next. Lastly, I am DONE with Queenie. NO ONE is THAT incompetent and NO ONE in Georgie's position would continue to employ her (Georgie is obviously a royal snob - remember her dreaming with Darcy in an earlier book about how many servants they would have?).

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Lazy ending and very disappointing.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Narrator is okay but Queenie's accent is getting too shrill.

Could you see Malice at the Palace being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Could be a great PBS or BBC mystery series (if edited to correct some of the criticisms listed by us readers).

Any additional comments?

I hope the author wakes up as this has been one of my favorite series (along with Phyrnne Fisher!).
