Don’t listen to negative reviews
Revisado: 12-29-23
A lot of people don’t like how much Ruwen uses harmony now, but they don’t understand the profession in power that A.F. Kay is trying to write.
From being a champion, he is the most powerful among ascendants, when discovering spirit and using his axiom status he becomes the most powerful among mortals, and now with harmony (the power he created himself) he is the strongest among gods. It’s a linear progression in power.
People just don’t understand how harmony works so they don’t like it. It’s really ingenious if you look deeper into it.
People dont like how he strays away from using spirit in this book, but he did the same thing with skills in book 3-4. He barely uses skills through his champion status anymore. Especially since he can basically use any skill from any class due to his spirit, instead just using spirit versions when convenient. Now he’s shifting to godhood, using powers only he can use, making him the most powerful being in the universe.

After giving up his soul in exchange for the power to build an army, he and his crew of misfits begin to realize that he might have made a mistake. Who would have thought having a soul would be important, right? With a looming war on the horizon, there's no time for Digby to dwell on what he’s lost. The Autem Empire has been preparing its conquest for decades and is already close to seizing control.

Historia
Arthur lives with his father, a fallen but proud former noble, in Border Village #49, along with the other good folks condemned to toil in service to the Baron. But Arthur has an edge: a stolen heart card that secretly fell into his possession, thanks to a dragon. It’s a priceless source of power for the Baron and the tyrant will kill to get it back. Invaluable, too, to a young man of spellcasting ambitions.

Very good book, read this review
Revisado: 05-09-23
The book is very well written. there are only 2 complaints I can make. I read a lot of this genre (LITRPG) so I am very well versed in how these stories should be written. Status pages and notifications are minimal, one of the best ways to inform the reader of progress without bogging them down with info. The book does this amazingly. The book is much more focused on character development than anything, so if you like that you’ll like this book. There isn’t much combat in this book like some others, but only because the story and characters are more important than combat.
The two complaints are this: 1. There are more than a few times that good things happen to the main character simply out of plot convenience, sometimes almost to the point of creating plot holes. That is one of the more jarring things about this book, the rest is incredibly well written except for some problems that seem to work out just due to plot convenience. 2) the story is slower than most. Slow doesn’t mean bad though. I mean, the TV show “Breaking Bad” had a slow start but became one of the best TV shows ever. The story of this book can seem slow moving, but what is amazing is that nearly every interaction between the main character and others eventually matters in the main story, whether it’s from bartering or lore about the world, every line of dialogue ends up being crucial to either character development or story.
Because of that, this book is amazing, read it. It may seem slow, and some things are just convenient, but quantity of action doesn’t compare to the quality of most interactions, especially when it seems that every interaction is essential to the characters or plot.

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.
