Fun short tales
Revisado: 10-09-23
I enjoyed the compendium of short stories in this audiobook and each short tale had a nice overarching moral to wrap them all up. I especially enjoyed the Puss In Boots tale the most. I didn't find any issue with the narrator's voice or delivery, but I do agree that it's sometimes hard to follow the story's plot and I believe that this work would be better off enjoyed through print than as an audiobook.

Pulling Down the Barn eloquently recalls author Anne-Marie Oomen's personal journey as she discovers herself an outsider on her family farm located in western Michigan's Oceana County, in the township of Elbridge - a couple hundred acres in the middle of rural America. Written as a series of heartfelt interlocking narratives, this collection of essays portrays the realities of farm life: haying, picking asparagus and cherries, the machinery of tractors and pickers.

The memoir is a collection of essays that explore various aspects of Oomen's childhood, from her relationships with her family and friends to her experiences on the family farm. It made me feel transported to a bygone era.

An Enchanting Tale
Revisado: 03-01-23
"The Sandman" is a must-listen audiobook for fans of dark fantasy, mythology, and graphic novels. The story follows the journey of Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams, as he escapes from his long imprisonment and sets out to rebuild his kingdom and right the wrongs of the past. Along the way, he encounters a diverse cast of characters, including gods, demons, monsters, and mortals, and embarks on a series of adventures that take him to different realms and realities.
The audiobook is a masterful adaptation of Gaiman's original graphic novel series, with a fantastic cast of voice actors who bring the characters and story to life with great skill and nuance. Each actor brings their unique style and interpretation to their respective characters, creating a vivid and immersive listening experience.
The story itself is dark, complex, and imaginative, with a rich mythology and a strong narrative arc that keeps the listener engaged throughout. Gaiman's work is poetic, evocative, and often surreal, creating a world that is both familiar and strange, and always fascinating.
Overall, "The Sandman" is a tour-de-force of storytelling and narration, and a must-listen for anyone who loves fantasy and mythology. The production values are top-notch, and the voice actors' performances are outstanding. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an immersive and unforgettable listening experience.
