Listened but couldn’t get into it at all… the story sounded promising but it just kept going in weird ways and I just couldn’t get my head into this world

Pronunciation of words is horrendous. Last book drove me batty every time the guy said “Bait-on rouge” … it’s baton.. like batton (the twirling thing) and every damn word that ends in A becomes and ER, gem florider instead of Florida” … Revel (reh - val) becomes (ra- VEL) it’s driving me a bit batty… basic words and the pronunciation is bizarre… :/

I adore B.A. Stretke and was looking for maybe the crimson corp or something like that to listen to.. this was all that was available so I figured I’d try it out…
I’m NOT a fan… the story was like a giant run on paragraph that just keeps repeating …
This whole story could have been covered in one chapter..
also the weird music between chapters is really annoying. Honestly the whole thing is like a harlequin style pamphlet with sex… so disappointed..

i love this series.. but

i own everything lisa oliver writes on kindle, and eapecially this series which i have read through several times. This book was a nightmare to sit through.. i get that Lisa is not in the US and as such some of her terminology is a bit different.. even for a series set in the US.. i.e. the repeated use of arse instead of the American version of ASS. However.. when you are going to record these books for audible.. it would be really nice to at least learm the pronunciation of an American city that is repeated no less that 50 times.. every single time i heard the reader say "Bait-un rouge" instead of Bat-on rouge" it made me cringe and eventually annoyed me so much i couldnt handle it anymore. Some words may vary in pronunciation, i.e. tomato/tomahto but the name of a city?other words like Mangy which he pronounged with a hard G were annoying but the city thing drove me nuts ... at least bother to spend 3 minutes on google to find the right pronunciation...

however, kermit the frog should NEVER say the words cock cage.. sigh the rest of the bouces are pretty decent its just whenever he does a voice for thomas.. it kills me...

i love this book but...

the voice for Ben and Scott was rather fitting... however.. for a book based in England only 2 characters (Ben and Peter) had non-American accents... and the one that really threw me was Master Thomas... why did he sound like Kermit rhe Frog??? it was jarring when he'd go to speak and I'd mentally link him with Miss Piggy instead of Peter!!

i thought id get the audio for the road but the narrator sounds like EVERY sentence is a question!!! arghhhhh!!! it literally annoyed me so much i couldn't finish listening to it..

horrendous... it was bit of a hodgepodge of stories all slammed into an itty bitty living space, but for what it was, and for why i bought it, it was fairly decent.. don't go in expecting awesomeness from your favorite authors, just expect the unexpected and either like it or don't.. i kinda dug it :D
