Historia
Sour and stingy Ebenezer Scrooge has an emotional transformation after the supernatural visits of Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. The novella met with instant success and critical acclaim. A Christmas Carol has never been out of print and has been adapted to film, opera, and other media.

Terrible narration of a wonderful classic
Revisado: 12-30-18
The narrator and sound quality is terrible. He seems bored at times. He does a decent job of distinguishing voices but he uses minimal intonation and dynamics so that I found myself falling asleep. The version narrated by Tim Curry is far superior IMHO.

Historia
In the early hours of February 25, 1968, a Russian submarine armed with three nuclear ballistic missiles set sail from its base in Siberia on a routine combat patrol to Hawaii. Then it vanished. As the Soviet navy searched in vain for the lost vessel, a small, highly classified American operation using sophisticated deep-sea spy equipment found it - wrecked on the sea floor at a depth of 16,800 feet, far beyond the capabilities of any salvage that existed.

Engaging story, unfortunately. . .

the halting narration is very annoying. This person should not be allowed to narrate in my opinion. As I listen to more books I realize how much the narration plays in capturing the listener which is unfortunate given that this is one of the most brilliant lessons in art of spy craft.

Historia
Edward Pellew, captain of the legendary Indefatigable, was quite simply the greatest British frigate captain in the age of sail. Left fatherless at age eight, with a penniless mother and five siblings, Pellew fought his way from the very bottom of the navy to fleet command. Victories and eye-catching feats won him a public following. Yet he had a gift for antagonizing his better-born peers, and he made powerful enemies. Redemption came with his last command, when he set off to do battle with the Barbary States and free thousands of European slaves.

Better than Patrick O’Brian . . .

Because it’s real! The real Aubrey; and the narration is superb! I was engaged throughout. Well worth the price and time if you appreciate naval history.
