Seems that the stories are getting repetitive, just changing location. Stone used to be so interesting. I miss that Stone.

Forced myself to finish
Revisado: 11-14-21
I have loved every Stone Barrington book and every Teddy Fay book, until now. Whereas normally I can’t wait to see what happens, this time I had to force myself to listen through to the end. Sorry, but this was a lame story.
Still, I can’t wait for the next one but really hope it will be like all the others and that this was just a mistake!

Historia
In a Virginia penitentiary, Alex Cross and his partner, John Sampson, witness the execution of a killer they helped convict. Hours later, they are called to the scene of a copycat crime. A note signed "M" rests on the corpse. "You messed up big time, Dr. Cross." Was an innocent man just put to death? Alex soon realizes he may have much to answer for, as "M" lures the detective out of the capital to the sites of multiple homicides, all marked with distressingly familiar details - details that conjure up decades-old cases.

So obvious from the beginning that Ali was going to get abducted. And what whole ant hill was just weird, and the entire last hour was a narrative of what had gone down. Far from his best book!

Historia
Stone Barrington seems to have a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. When Manhattan’s elite are beset by a series of clever crimes - and Stone is a material witness - he and his former partner Dino Bacchetti find themselves drawn into the world of high-end security and fraud, where insider knowledge and access are limited to a privileged few, and the wealthy are made vulnerable by the very systems meant to keep them safe.

Great book, but ending?????
Revisado: 02-18-20
Great story, but disappointing ending/wrap up.
Intensely followed stone’s escapades and couldn’t wait to hear what happened until Dino uncharacteristically botched the sting for a disappointing last 10-15 minutes...

The story was fun and interesting stone Barrington, but then 15 minutes left, so wrap it up! Too convenient and anti-climactic an ending. Put a bummer on the whole story.

An anonymous tip about a crime in Upper Manhattan proves to be a setup. An officer is taken down - and, despite the attackers' efforts, it's not Michael Bennett. New York's top cop is not the only one at risk. One of Bennett's children sustains a mysterious injury. A series of murders follows, each with a distinct signature, alerting Bennett to the presence of a professional killer with a flair for disguise.
