Historia
Twenty years ago, it was as if someone turned on a light. The future blazed into existence with each deliberate word that William Gibson laid down. The winner of Hugo, Nebula, and Philip K. Dick Awards, Neuromancer didn't just explode onto the science fiction scene - it permeated into the collective consciousness, culture, science, and technology.Today, there is only one science fiction masterpiece to thank for the term "cyberpunk," for easing the way into the information age and Internet society.

This book may have been a fever dream.
Revisado: 07-19-22
I didn't know what to expect with this one. I can see now why it is considered the beginning of Cyberpunk. Everything from "jacking into the Matrix" to ICE programs and AI constructs, this book rips by at a blazing pace right from the start and doesn't let go.

Another SHACK, smack on the nose.
Revisado: 06-06-22
It is a little disheartening to know that the battle for women in combat is still raging on within the military. Things have certainly improved since this book was written, at least.
This was an excellent read, full of technical details and beautifully painted scenes. Ward has terrific prose and great timing. As with the first book, a lot of this book is extra special for people in the military, like the rank dynamics or greasy tech reps. Things we've all had to deal with!
Bonus points for LANTIRN because that thing is just cool.

Punk’s War reveals the inner workings of the US Navy as only an insider can. An authentic and riveting thriller, it is a highly acclaimed novel of a fighter pilot’s experience in the era just before 9/11. As the US military enters another postconflict period, the themes of leadership during crisis and accomplishing the mission make Punk’s War more relevant than ever.

Tomcats!
Revisado: 05-31-22
This was a great book. I'm not sure if it's because of my love for the F-14, or because I love aviation in general, but I could vividly picture the scenes described in this book. Exhilarating stuff!
Ward "Mooch" Carrol was a Tomcat RIO and runs a great and informative YouTube channel.
on to the next one!

This was an excellent book. I am sad I waited this long to read it. The narrator really nailed the emotion where it counted.

Intense and personal! I loved it!
Revisado: 01-19-20
I loved the book. As an outdoorsman myself, it was easy to get sucked into the setting. I loved how personal the book got, including some scenes the actually made me feel angry and sad with the protagonist. Very good stuff. My only gripe was the narrator sometimes messing up the accent of the various characters, but overall it was great. I look forward to the next in the series.
