I loved the narrator. Her performance truly made the book! The main characters were likeable and they held my attention. loved that this particular Miss Marple book actually featured a good bit of Miss Marple!

Historia
Lymstock is a town with more than its share of shameful secrets - a town where even a sudden outbreak of anonymous hate mail causes only a minor stir. But all that changes when one of the recipients, Mrs. Symmington, commits suicide. Her final note says "I can’t go on", but Miss Marple questions the coroner's verdict of suicide. Soon nobody is sure of anyone - as secrets stop being shameful and start becoming deadly.

my first ever 5 star review
Revisado: 03-23-19
This was my second Miss Marple book, and I loved it even more than the first one I read "Murder at the Vicarage". I was hooked and it was such an easy listen. The narrator is fabulous! Usually there are parts of every audio book where it seems a little slow paced and my mind wanders... NOT while listening to the Moving Finger. I again was surprised that we aren't introduced to Miss Marple until halfway through the book - chapter ten I believe. However that seems to be the case with this Christie series, as was the case with the first MM "Murder at the Vicarage" too. Highly recommend!

Historia
Miss Marple encounters a compelling murder mystery in the sleepy little village of St. Mary Mead, where under the seemingly peaceful exterior of an English country village lurks intrigue, guilt, deception and death. Colonel Protheroe, local magistrate and overbearing land-owner is the most detested man in the village. Everyone—even in the vicar—wishes he were dead. And very soon he is—shot in the head in the vicar's own study. Faced with a surfeit of suspects, only the inscrutable Miss Marple can unravel the tangled web of clues that will lead to the unmasking of the killer.

Highly recommend
Revisado: 03-20-19
The narrator is captivating with his many voices and accents. This is of course the first book in the Miss Marple series, and I had expected her to play a more prominent role throughout the first half of the book. However, I guess that's to be expected since they are just introducing us to the character. This is my first Miss Marple book as well and I'm looking forward to the next! The book is told from the point of view of the Vicar, which gave me some serious 'Father Brown' vibes.

Sadly, for me it was just "Eh"
Revisado: 03-13-19
This book started out so promising. My major qualms with a storyline itself all contain spoilers so I will keep those details to myself. Katya's story was very interesting, and I felt emotionally invested in her life and happiness. I would like to have read more about her. Once they left Russia I feel like the book lost my attention. Carla (the modern day character) was difficult for me to like. She and I would be the same age in real life and I have to say that I couldn't relate to her at all. Chapters where she was featured heavily (which is half of the book) I had a hard time getting through and couldn't wait for them to end. As another review already stated: Greg got really creepy really fast! And I wholeheartedly agree. Bottom line, for me, the past storyline was intriguing and fully held my attention. The present one however was lacking and I found the modern main characters both annoying and hard to relate to.
