Two of My Favorite Tropes: Friends to Lovers & Return to Hometown Romance

Rihanna and Kwon shared a special friendship from fourth grade until he suddenly moved away in tenth grade. When Kwon returns to his hometown and runs into Rihanna, the sparks fly… the chemistry is still there. I loved the way these two characters reconnected and how the story unfolds around the promise they made many years ago. I’ve read the book, but to hear the characters come alive is on another level. The narrator did an awesome job. I’ve listened to this book twice since it released last week. It’s so good.

It's been five long years . . . five years since I felt his touch, five years since I saw his face and here he is in my DM. I wanted so much more for us, so much so that I haven't let another man touch me in over five years. My friends probably think I'm crazy, but they don't understand when you've had a man who made you feel like no other. Hard to settle for anything less. I could feel the heat and mad chemistry as I ran my fingers across the words on the screen of my phone . . . it was him. I need to see him. I must see him. Just have to make sure that this time I don't get burned.

I loved this book so much, I had to purchase the audiobook. Best decision ever because this Chemical Reaction feels like a match made in heaven. Tiye and iiKane… you did your thing with Chemistry and Chemical Reaction. The narrator iiKane brought Tiye’s characters to life. Chris Alexander’s voice is so dreamy. It makes you want to listen to this audiobook over and over. I look forward to the rest of the Lipstick Diaries on audiobook by Tiye and narrated by iiKane.
