Surprisingly good

When I started listening to this audiobook, I didn’t expect much but was just passing the time. I quickly became engrossed in it. I can’t wait to listen to the next one.

Historia
Jack Walker and Michael Talbot come from two worlds; the same, yet different. They both find themselves transported into an alien one, where things aren’t as they seem. While it appears similar to the ones they come from, there are some terrifying differences. Is it a dream? Or has reality been somehow warped? Jack comes from a world filled with nocturnal creatures that were once human, but now seek to destroy the last vestiges of humanity.

I was nervous
Revisado: 01-10-25
I am a major Tufo fan, I’ve read nearly every book that he’s written. I wasn’t sure how I was going to like the team up with John O’Brien. I loved it. Can’t wait for the next one, and in my next downtime, I may even see what Jack’s world is really like!

Because something worse is stirring at the geographic epicenter of the disaster—Devils Desk, Alaska. The quakes have done more than just upend the country. Unaware of the nature of this new threat, the Talbots head into the breach to take on a rift to a dark dimension.

Historia
Katmai National Park: 7,000 square miles of rugged, isolated wilderness in southern Alaska. Vast stretches of frozen tundra, deep ancient forests, and impassable ravines ruled by the massive volcanic God, Devil's Desk. Despite the vigorous protests of Michael, the Talbots and the Tynes head to the park for a much-needed vacation away from it all.

Why was this so good?
Revisado: 12-11-24
I started this book as sort of a “snack” while waiting for the next Zombie Fallout to come out. I couldn’t stop and will probably be starting DD2 before the days out. I should’ve known, the same thing happened when I started Indian Hill! I love each version of the characters the similarities, the differences. I was so happy for BT when we get to meet Linda (thanks for that Mark by the way).
I was a little reluctant to take the plunge at first because… Yetis?
I’m sorry to have ever doubted, this book over delivered and then some!

Historia
As Michael Talbot and crew hit the last stretch before the US border, they are struck by the most devastating losses thus far on their journey. After trekking some of the harshest environment on the continent, surviving the shipwreck of their floating home, an escape from a brutal military that still pursues them, and attacks from every ilk of undead monster, the finish line is finally just up ahead. Making better time on the road than they ever have, the crew are menaced by the most ironic of enemies, led by an evil presence that has yet to reveal its motives.

Never let it stop!
Revisado: 12-05-24
Mark is a master at his craft, this story has so many moving parts. It’s amazing that he can keep it all straight in his head, and bring a reader along for the ride. With all of these twists and turns, danger everywhere, and incredibly deep and complex characters you would expect it to be as all over the place as Talbot’s thoughts. But I never lost the storyline was thoroughly entertained!
Mark, if you ever get to read this (no pressure) we’ll take them as soon as they come out of your head! Never let it stop!

In an oil refinery deep inside the Brazilian jungle, the Talbot clan awaits a breakthrough as their scientists work nonstop to produce usable fuel. But on the verge of success, an oversight brings down the wrath of both a giant horde and the persistent Brazilian military. In a shocking development, Mike discovers a possible zombie liaison within their ranks, one that could save the day—or destroy them all—and it’s unclear which way she leans. Hostages, treachery, sacrifice and fierce battle mark this chapter in the Zombie Fallout saga...just as hope is finally on the horizon.

I think my favorite part is the return of some interesting characters. One of which (I’m not telling) I had been waiting to hear about for a long time. Mark is a master storyteller, or he’s insane, but either way you just can’t help following along and loving the ride!

Historia
Mike reunites with his wife and his friend, Paul, aboard the Guardian only to find that things have gone from bleak to hellish on earth. Rampaging hordes of Genogerians plague the planet, as does an invasion from Progerians hell-bent on knuckling under the will of man through their relentless assault. Yet this may not be the worst of it, as an insidious "ally" has lent their support. At what cost can a planet on the brink come back from such desperate odds?

Revisado: 07-30-24
I am a Zombie Fallout guy, so far I’ve always really liked Indian Hill. Love the characters, but it’s always been second to ZF. They’ve all been full of war, and drama, and action so I can’t really put my finger on what is different about this particular part of the story that I love so much. This is the first time that If I had to choose which to listen to first I might choose Indian Hill! It says a lot for Mark Tufo, that my mind is battling between his series
(series-es?) and all other authors are a distance second!

Historia
The Source, the natural wellspring of Magic in the world, is stretched to the breaking point. If gluttonous witchcraft and human usurpers are not curtailed, it will vanish from the Nine Realms, taking with it every legendary race, and the magical sway of all that is good in the world will disappear forever. Before that end, the gods themselves will wage a final destructive war on Creation. The quest to save Magic at all costs is at hand, and an ancient prophesy awakens.

I’m an complete ZF nut, and honestly I was nervous starting Indian Hill… I mean how can you use the same hero in more than one series? This is a complete “lightning does strike twice” scenario! I love it, I love the new characters and I love seeing the Indian Hill counterparts of ZF characters! In fact if I had to say what I love most about Mark Tufo’s writing, it is his ability to make you care for the characters. A great story that you feel immediately invested in, I recommend it to any Sci-fi fan, and any fan (of any version) of Mike Talbot!
