Historia
Sam and Sadie—two college friends, often in love, but never lovers—become creative partners in a dazzling and intricately imagined world of video game design, where success brings them fame, joy, tragedy, duplicity, and, ultimately, a kind of immortality. It is a love story, but not one you have heard before.

Historia
Two young people meet at a pub in South East London. Both are Black British, both won scholarships to private schools where they struggled to belong, both are now artists - he a photographer, she a dancer - trying to make their mark in a city that by turns celebrates and rejects them. Tentatively, tenderly, they fall in love. But two people who seem destined to be together can still be torn apart by fear and violence.

Love Story Distracted
Revisado: 03-20-23
This is a beautifully written book but with you and fatal flaw which is the author got distracted in the third part on a story that's less about black love and more about black pain. the two sides of the story don't jive properly, resulting in a disjointed whiplash and a dissatisfying ending.

Imagine running around Event Horizon with a woman who's constantly filled with self doubt and you have this book. Every moment of action is disrupted by long passages of navel gazing whining

Historia
A propulsive science fiction tale of murder and memory, all set on a futuristic space station. Hundreds of miles above Earth, the space station Ciudad de Cielo - the City in the Sky - is a beacon of hope for humanity's expansion into the stars. But not everyone aboard shares such noble ideals. Bootlegging, booze, and prostitution form a lucrative underground economy for rival gangs, which the authorities are happy to turn a blind eye to until a disassembled corpse is found dancing in the microgravity.

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Magical story beautifully read by Carey Mulligan

This will be the type of uplifting book I'll recommend to people feeling a bit less themselves, struggling to see where they fit in to their worlds.

Historia
Fergus Ferguson, repo-man, has one job: find the spacecraft Venetia's Sword and steal it back from Arum Gilger, ex-nobleman turned power-hungry trade boss. Finding Gilger in the farthest corner of human-inhabited space, a gas-giant harvesting colony called Cernee, was easy. The hard part will be getting past a field of space mines, hacking into the Sword's compromised AI, and fighting a crew of hostile enemies to take control of the ship. But when a cable car explosion launches Cernee into a civil war, Fergus finds himself caught in the crosshairs.

Could Keep My Interest
Revisado: 08-20-21
I couldn't even tell you what the story was about. Weak prose and dialogue wasn't helped by one of the most monotoned, dull narrations I've ever heard. Action scenes sound dull. Jokes fell flat. I found myself listening for long periods and then realizing I haven't been paying attention.

Historia
An AI overseer and a human crew arrive on a distant planet to salvage an ancient UN starship. The overseer is unhappy. The crew, well, they're certainly no A-team. Not even a C-team on the best of days. And worse? Urmahon Beta, the planet, is at the ass-end of nowhere. Everybody expects this to be a long, ugly, and thankless job. Then it all goes disastrously wrong. What they thought was an uninhabited backwater turns out to be anything but empty.

Worth The Listen For Nathan Fillion
Revisado: 12-30-20
This was a so-so story made better by Fillion's soulful narration. The story is a genre gumbo of wilderness survival, sentient AI drama and bionics but its unsatisfying resolution disappoints. That said, Fillion is doing an read I've never heard on an audiobook

Two days before Christmas 1996, the broken, battered body of Sophie Toscan du Plantier was found outside her vacation home in West Cork, a serene region on Ireland’s idyllic southern coast. Decades later, no one has been charged with the murder, but the aggrieved inhabitants of West Cork are convinced they know who did it - and he still lives among them.

Bait and Switch
Revisado: 04-04-18
Do you want to know about a small town murder mystery? Too bad, this is about a failed journalist's vainglory as two reporters recount his alcoholism and domestic abuse while making him out as the victim of unforgiving French law. Don't waste time on this.
