The true originator of criminal behavioral profiling.
Revisado: 11-22-24
Bob Ressler was passionate about the motivations of the criminal mind. He was a quiet and humble man that devoted his career to supplementing the work of Hathaway and McKinley. He was a frequent speaker at colleges and universities as he shared his research with students. Many piggy-backed on Ressler’s work seeking to claim the title, “Mindhunter”. Yet, Ressler avoided the PR campaigns and focused on the work. He will be respectfully remembered by his many friends in the military and LE community.

Historia
Since it was first published in 2005, Ray Kurzweil's The Singularity Is Near and its vision of the future have been influential in spawning a worldwide movement with millions of followers, hundreds of books, major films, and thousands of articles. During the succeeding decade, many of Kurzweil's predictions about technological advancements have been borne out, and their viability has become familiar to the public through such now commonplace concepts. In this entirely new book Ray Kurzweil brings a fresh perspective to advances in the singularity.

Beyond belief…
Revisado: 08-04-24
The premise and predictions were out-dated and overly optimistic. (But that sells books.) The belief that AI is going to redefine the human existence conveniently dismisses the nature and history of Mankind. It will never solve the drug problem, homelessness, wars, greed or the conspiracies of the rich to get richer. That said, it’s just a tool to gain control.

Historia
On the last day of June, my bush pilot left me alone and without food in a wilderness rain forest of Southeast Alaska. He would return in September. For the next 10 weeks my survival would depend on foraging, hunting, and fishing on an island I would share with 1,600 brown bears.

The many faces of mental illness…
Revisado: 01-23-23
In the book of Jeremiah, chapter 17 verse 9, it reads: “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it?”
This story is another expose of why humanity is totally depraved…and all in the name of “love”.

Life on the Serengeti…
Revisado: 01-09-22
Why is it that we do not better equip young women to be prepared to protect themselves against the monsters that roam in the tall grass? Listening to this podcast brought back memories of my encounters with psychopaths…some of which could be candidates for podcasts. Meehan’s techniques were classic and I found Laura Richard’s insights to be laser-focused. Her mention of Dr. Richard Hare’s work confirmed for me that we had read the same books. By the way, don’t overlook the work that Robert Ressler has done in analyzing these dangerous animals. If you’re a parent of a young woman, I would highly recommend that you have them listen to this podcast. As difficult as it may seem to expose them to this story, it will help develop their defense mechanisms to see through the layers of manipulation and psychological stalking that they are bound to encounter in life.
