Heartbreaking

This is the second book this month I read as a retelling of the Dozier School for boys and it is constantly heartbreaking. The fact that this was written as remembrance to a family member who died in the school is even better.

Definitely not the high school principal, Gary Mustafa, whose hyperfixation on balloons will leave your mind only loosely tethered to your head. Then there’s Love and Yew, the former government hacker and ex-reality TV star, the latter a psychedelic therapist who thinks she’s better than you. The less said about these two women, the better.

Let them Whimper was a fantastic comedy apocalypse in real time. From the views of brothers and Looners, of therapists and writers. The story is fun and dark. There are some points that with audio you are lost a little if you miss even one sentence. But the narrator was PERFECT with voices and emotion.
