I thought I would love it, but…

This seemed like a story I would love. I read the reviews and just expected so much more. The comments say it’s funny, and I normally laugh at loud at funny romances, but the “humor” was so basic. I didn’t crack a grin, except maybe once. The idea of the story is really fun, but I zoned out way too many times. The mmc’s name is Josh, lol. That should have been my first clue. I really wanted to like it, and the very beginning had me thinking I would, but the story went on too long past any interesting moments. This is also the first time of any book that I can remember that I was bored during the sex scenes. I won’t listen again.

Slow start, but so worth pushing through

It’s a real life, young person, love story. I didn’t think I was going to like it. Idk why. I just really wanted to read the second book, so I knew I needed the first one. Now, idk how the second one could be better than this one. It’s very good.

The plot is a good idea, but it did not live up to my expectations at all. I could easily believe a man wrote this. A man who trolls women on the internet, but then claims to be a nice guy. So, when I found out a woman wrote this, I was surprised. She’s definitely a conservative. A pick-me. She’s a conspiracy theorist. It was hard to enjoy the story because of the way it was written and the thought process of the main characters. This story is about falling for your stalker. If you like “You” on Netflix, this is not like that.

I can’t decide

I like the fact she’s thick, and she’s beautiful. The sex scenes are great. What I didn’t like was how fast they fall in love and want to be together forever after one day, lol. Like, be for real. And I hated how it ended. The last hour and a half is about how uncomfortable she is in her body. There was a bit of that throughout the story, but the end was overwhelming with her insecurity. I was hoping for her to be more like McKenna. I mean, how often do we get stories about pretty, thick women. I wanted Ireland’s size to be just a fact about her, not a storyline.

This whole series is hilarious. I just had to leave a review on this one bc the female narrator was changed from the previous books. She sounds exactly like Parker Posey. I couldn’t get over it bc I just saw her face the whole book which threw me off from who I imagined in the previous books. So it was the only negative I have from this series.

This book has it’s moments. However, for the most part, the female MC is a feeble pick-me. I wish she was more interesting than a typical male fantasy of a virginal, tiny blonde girl with daddy issues. The farther into the story you read, the more ridiculous her weakness is. I finished the book, but I would not read it again.

Pleasantly surprised

I found this author on TikTok via a completely unrelated video. However, she had other videos promoting her book, and so I looked into the premise and was intrigued. It’s not a retelling of the Hunchback of Notre Dame, exactly, but it does have a lot of the same elements in the story. I was prepared to be disappointed, but honestly, it held my interest the whole time. It is on the verge of being straight erotica; however, it has just enough of a plot and nuanced characters to be an engaging story, as well. I actually wish it was longer. The villains were ended pretty easily which surprised me. It not my favorite book ever, but I would definitely listen to it again and any other books this author may write.

I do like Eva Chase books, in general. I kept listening hoping it would get better because I felt like it should be good based on how it started, but it just was not a good plot at all. It dragged on and on, and I wish she would have just threw it out and started over from the beginning.

I cannot get past the pedophilia in this story. There is no plot, no character development, no point. Just torture and molestation of teenagers. DNF

This is my fav fantasy, love story so far. I’m assuming when the next book comes, it will only get better. The only thing I dislike, is that I bought this book prior to the next one being written. I hate how happy I felt, and then, the book just ended. The narration was just as good as the story. I hope she does the next book, as well. I’ve listened multiple times. I can’t wait for the next one.
