Great battletech story!

It’s been so long since there was a battletech audio book! This one was worth the wait! The narrator’s performance was great! The characters were excellent and there are some great ties to the main battletech story line. I want more!

Worst ‘Clancy’ novel I’ve listened to

I thought this was going to be a Jack Sr. story. I would of even been ok with a full Campus story. Instead the author takes you on a boring unrelated Jack Jr. story that has no ties to any past novels. Where Old Clancy would get into the details of an attack helicopter, this story gets into all the details of forensic accounting. The characters are odd and a bit far fetched in some cases. (Spoiler: Jack Jr can kill people with one punch now). The story never really wraps up which makes me worry that it will lead into some other lacking attempt that shouldn’t have Tom Clancy’s name on it.

Great spin off!

It's a short book but they do a great job of opening a new storyline with some of the secondary characters from the main storyline.

Not really a Jack Ryan book

Other than Jack Ryan it doesn't have any of the other characters in it. It's a decent mystery but if you are looking for the next in the JR storyline you will be disappointed.

Wow, give me more!

I was originally looking for action stories about the wars in Iraq & Afganistan so I was slightly discouraged when the book started off as a history lesson about the origins of special forces and the invasion of Grenada. However, it war really interesting after you understood where it was going and really gave me a better understanding and respect of the intensity of the Grenada and Panama conflicts. I really got everything I was looking for when the story covered the gulf wars! The story is a mix of after-action reports mixed with a dialogue story while it happends. There narrator was 'ok'. I didn't care for the way he read it but he did a good job of acting with the dialogue and made you feel the intensity of the situations.

I understand many of the Night Stalker missions are classified, but I want to know more!! A good book!

This guy was amazing!

So I was really looking for a book that gave me a feel for what snipers go through, and did it. I was mostly looking for the action side of it but this book goes into the biography and background of Hathcock also which at first I wasn't interested in, but later enjoyed. This book is written as more of a story with dialogue, rather than an after-action interview. Definitely an amazing story!

Good Action

I really enjoyed the book. It had good action and I thought the book did a better job of painting a realistic picture of combat and what our troops go through. It also gave a Somali side of the story more than the movie did and didn't pull any punches.
