This was SO MUCH fun to read!
Revisado: 07-07-22
Sometimes you just need a book that just helps you feel connected to the world and just be human, full of flaws, mistakes and embarrasing experiences. Listening to these stories made me laugh, made me remember about my own and, in some way, it helped me moved on from those that I still felt bitter about.
I love reading "professionally oriented" books and reading this one in between... was just perfect. Thank you Lizzie and Kelly I honestly consider you my "audible friends".

Historia
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

Amazing Read... I love it!
Revisado: 09-09-20
I bought this audible 3 years ago and kept putting it back until I decided to catch up on all my audible purchases since I couldn’t return it anyway. I’m glad I didn’t, glad I couldn’t return it. WOW! What a memoir, what a story. Felt a connection with her regarding the obstacles, decisions and how a women evolves thanks to education, experiences, world perspectives, opportunities. It’s a never ending path of learning and evolving, slowly healing wounds. Sending strength, solidarity and never ending propelling force to move forward.

It’s an eye opener
Revisado: 12-28-18
It’s a book that as a mother I felt connected to. The sense of protection of your baby but at the same time being wise enough to let them be. I cried with this book, I laughed, felt so emotional about it. It has provided me a different side of how I raise my son. I couldn’t stop listening to it.

Inspiring, admirable, honest and HOPEFUL
Revisado: 12-05-18
As soon as I started reading this book, I couldn’t stop listening to it. Michelle’s life experience is admirable and humble. Her honest perspective of her experience at the White House, her constant struggle of keeping things real and make a change in the world I found extraordinary. It sometimes so easy to judge knowing one side of the story and it’s a different scenario when you know the other side. I am not from the US (I believe America is a whole continent), but found this first family an example of hope, change, diversity, empowerment and equality. This book is definitely a MUST READ.

Historia
The occasion was a big birthday. And it inspired two close friends to get together in Dharamsala for a talk about something very important to them. The friends were His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. The subject was joy. Both winners of the Nobel Prize, both great spiritual masters and moral leaders of our time, they are also known for being among the most infectiously happy people on the planet.

I enjoy the knowledge, wisdom yet simplicity of these amazing men and how their view of life is so reachable and simply that we just miss it. I believe I'll be listening this book several times.
Have you listened to any of Douglas Carlton Abrams and full cast ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, first time.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Gives a different boost about life
Revisado: 01-11-17
I enjoy the point of view of the writer and the practical perspective about life. If you enjoy sarcasm, harsh opinions and truths, the book is for you. Its good to be reminded that there's an end to this life so for the time being we might as well truly enjoy it. I really read it twice already and will probable do a third.
