Disappointed
Revisado: 11-18-17
After many years of being a Grisham fan, I have come to expect a certain standard. Sadly, this book did not come close to my expectations. To be fair to the author, possibly, the narration impacted the story line.
In any event, I muddled through the entirety hoping it would improve and was very disappointed.

A MUST READ
Revisado: 09-22-14
Knowing that I would visit Monticello in the near future, I chose this book to refresh my memory about our third President and was not disappointed. My understanding of the genius of this man and America's history was so much clearer and very personal after reading the book. The tour guide seemed to be quoting passage after passage (though I am sure she was not) about his beloved home. I enjoyed it so much that, from time to time, I will relisten to parts of this book. Edward Herrmann was brilliant in his narration.

Somewhat disappointed
Revisado: 09-22-14
The story moved along and had almost every element needed - love, violence, mystery, humor and sex (maybe a little too much - became a bit boring after a while). The English and Scottish accents were better than most I have heard and the descriptions were colorful and added much to the very long story. While I am glad I completed the entire book, I don't believe I will follow it with another.

Prodigal Summer weaves together three stories of human love within a larger tapestry of lives in southern Appalachia. At the heart of these intertwined narratives is a den of coyotes that have recently migrated into the region. Deanna Wolfe, a reclusive wildlife biologist, watches them from an isolated mountain cabin where she is caught off-guard by Eddie Bondo, a young hunter who comes to invade her most private spaces and her solitary life.

Disappointing
Revisado: 09-14-13
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Yes but in small doses which is not my preference.
If you’ve listened to books by Joel Fuhrman before, how does this one compare?
Never before and never again.
What didn’t you like about Joel Fuhrman’s performance?
Though he had an interesting and well thought out message, the delivery was not to my liking. His attitude seemed pompous when he used phraseology similar to "are you with me" - "do you understand" multiple times. Though obvisously he has an understanding of the subject matter, I was irritated at his delivery.
Could you see Eat to Live being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
No - would not watch especially if he was the moderator.
Any additional comments?
Too bad ... for me, the message was lost due to my frustration with the speaker.
