WTH?!?
Revisado: 08-24-24
Why do some series change the narrator in the middle of the series for the worse? I listen to a lot of audiobooks and this narrator is one of the worst. I am so sad to see that she's the narrator for the rest of the series. The story is still very good, but the narrator!!!!! Why ruin it!!

Could've been much better
Revisado: 11-11-22
Was hoping to learn about Delft Blue - learned some... Not much history or information was provided. The storyline was very weak too. I love historical novels, and this isn't something I will recommend to the other historical novel fans.

worst narrator ever!
Revisado: 07-30-21
the narrator must think she's reciting a poem or something.. instead of telling the story, she's in her own poetic state when she's reading the narration of the story and she talks like an actor from a musical when she's doing the dialog between the character. Let alone she only has one voice with no control over the volume. One moment she's whispering and one moment she's yelling. SO EXTREMELY ANNOYING! I so wanted to finish this book because I am a big fan of Andrea Penrose, but I failed. Can't believe they stuck with the same narrator for the whole series!

Revisado: 03-13-21
I am a huge fan of T E Kinsey, Lady Hardcastle, and Elizabeth Knowelden. I pre-ordered this book and was so excited when it got released on March 1st. Then, wow.. How disappointed I am! I tried and tried to like it, but I failed. So sad. Hope the next story Kinsey is working on is better.

Hannah is now Mrs. Carter, living the charmed life that should have been Claire's. It's the life Claire used to have before Hannah came along and took it all away from her.

What is up with the narration?
Revisado: 05-24-20
The story is ok... But, the narration! Oh my god.. I don't know why the narrator does this such mid 40 woman's voice for Clare when she is only 24 years old! Hannah on the other hand is in 30s and she sounds so much younger... It is so hard to morphed into the story just because the 24 year old Clare is talking and sounding like a woman in mid 40 and rest of the characters who are a lot older than her sounds so much younger... I don't think I can finish this book... If the story is strong enough for me to deal with the bad narration - I would keep going... But, the story is mediocre...

Need a better narrator
Revisado: 04-30-20
Loved the story very much, but... the narrator!
She speaks super slow - you need to up the speed otherwise 1) you will fall asleep or 2) it will take forever to finish the book!
I up'd the speed to 1.4x faster.
Then, her voice. My god - she sounds like she's suffering from a head cold. Completely congested and nasally. It took me awhile to get used to the stuffy congested voice.

The narrator needs to work on different voices
Revisado: 08-11-19
I enjoyed listening to this book when I am doing house chores or driving because it won't require much of your concentration, but a good story. My only issue with the book (audible) is the narrator. The narrator is a good storyteller, but he is lack of different voices. Almost every character in the book has the same voice and the same accent. I had to hit go back 15 sec button quite often to figure out who is talking. I enjoyed the book, but I don't think I will buy another Cherringham series.

Thandie Newton saved this book
Revisado: 08-11-19
Jane Eyrie is one of the many books on my bucket list that I tried a few times than couldn't finish (reading not listening). Last week I found Jane Eyrie Audible by Thandie, and I wanted to give it a try. Yes, I was able to finish this time, and it is all because of Thandie's fantastic performance. I learned the book (the story) itself is not my kind, and I don't like the author's voice. I really wanted to like the book because it is Jane Eyre!!! Well, not my cup of tea. Still, I am glad I can cross that off of my bucket list!
