A very nice collection for background
Revisado: 08-16-14
All of the Worlds of Honor Books are nice sources of background material that is left out of the main storyline. It is important to note however that it works best if you read the individual stories at the right point of the storyline.
One thing I thought especially nice in particular regarding "From the Highlands" was the use of Male and Female narration based on POV character, something I devoutly wish they had done in the main series.

bad Editing and narration make a writer look bad
Revisado: 06-21-14
What disappointed you about Winds of Fate?
I have the print versions of virtually all of the Valdemar books, In making this Audible book they seem to have worked from the E-book rather than the print. Both have poor formatting and frequent errors(typo's/improper word use). To make matters worse as many have commented here the Narrator did a poor job. Pacing could have been improved greatly and many of the voices were just plain wrong for the characters they belonged to.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Winds of Fate?
If I had to pick just one I would pick the moment Need first spoke to Elspeth.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Karen White?
I don't know, I think she might have done better if she had actually read By the Sword, Arrows, and Take a Thief before she attempted Narrating Winds of Fate, I also think she might have done better if the script she was working from was the print version not the e-book edition (or just edited for pity's sake)
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment, as I commented above I have the print versions, I bought the e-book and Audible editions because the print versions are getting badly worn. I am frankly regretting the investment
Any additional comments?
If a reader has no previous experience with Mercedes Lackey's work in Print he/she will likely get a bad impression of her writing from this product.

Read/Listen with Caution (and an open mind)
Revisado: 05-17-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Ghost to be better than the print version?
Yes in some ways no in others. As a reader you visualize individuals in a way most likely unique to yourself, it can be disturbing to hear or see those persons portrayed differently.
Would you be willing to try another book from John Ringo? Why or why not?
Confession I do not have an Audible account but rather have purchased many audio-books thru Amazon's whisper-sync (immersive reading). However having said that I would love to see more of this series (and this author) available to me.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Honestly, While I feel he did an exceptional job on the male voices including as someone else commented on accents and speech mannerisms, he fell short on female voices. this is true throughout the book but most glaring in the first story where there might be several females in the conversation at once.
Any additional comments?
If you have read the books you might have seen the author's disclaimer that many though not all of the actions taken by the main character would result in incarceration in ANY country, both the level of violence and the explicit nature of the sexuality in the stories requires a high level of both caution and open mind.
