Historia
Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was thirty-six. They were married when Clare was twenty-three and Henry was thirty-one. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future.

Great Book, much better than movie....
Revisado: 04-20-10
I saw the movie first, awhile back, loved it but thought it was hard to follow and lack continuity. Read the book than saw the movie again because I thought it was a little different from what I remembered.
Book was wonderful, even though I knew the storyline. Much more details (was alittle different than the movie). Much more poignant and full. I guess Hollywood needed to make it more PC and palatable.

Historia
For John Chatterton and Richie Kohler, deep wreck diving was more than a sport. Testing themselves against treacherous currents, braving depths that induced hallucinatory effects, they pushed themselves to their limits and beyond, brushing against death more than once in the rusting hulks of sunken ships.

Loved this book.....
Revisado: 03-26-10
I loved the technical aspects of the diving, and how someone gets into trouble diving. I'm a avid diver, but the sub's history and mystery were intriguing and kept me riveted.

Historia
Her name was Henrietta Lacks, but scientists know her as HeLa. She was a poor Southern tobacco farmer who worked the same land as her slave ancestors, yet her cells - taken without her knowledge - became one of the most important tools in medicine: The first “immortal” human cells grown in culture, which are still alive today, though she has been dead for more than 60 years. HeLa cells were vital for developing the polio vaccine; uncovered secrets of cancer, viruses, and the atom bomb’s effects.

Interesting story....
Revisado: 03-26-10
Interesting story. I’m a scientist, and was interested in HeLa cell story. Too much time spent on superfluous lives of the family. Should have stuck to the mission about how they were directly affected. Should have listen to the abridged version.

Don't bother.....
Revisado: 03-26-10
Badly written, and I found the character annoying, end was slighty clever. Could have been a good TV movie.
I was in a biotech company and was intrigued by the plot, curiosity caught the cat, no satisfaction at all, at least I have more lives left.

Historia
The Road follows a man and a boy, father and son, journeying together for many months across a desolate, post-apocalyptic landscape, some years after a great, unexplained cataclysm, possibly an impact event. Civilization has been destroyed and most species have become extinct. What has happened outside of North America is left unexplained. Humanity consists largely of bands of cannibals, their captives, and refugees who scavenge for canned food.
