You can immerse yourself into her world
Revisado: 03-24-25
I enjoyed this book the most. I came to like Mists of the Avalon a lot then had a slight disappoint in later books to fall in love with Priestess of Avalon. I could identify with her, feel the depth of her character and her journey through life, feel her pain and sorrows. Really well written character that made you want to learn of history of those times.

Interesting insight on the Bloody Mary
Revisado: 09-29-24
Intriguing and especially worth for the final words for the author as I decided to listen to this book after Ann Boleyn by the same author and knowing autobiographies and enjoying the story line and accuracy. With Queen Mary I I wanted to know more and was hoping narration will help to understand her and it did. It felt as feeling the gaps and giving understanding to her complex person. I wasn’t able to identify with her but I can admire her determination to stand with head high all those years and fighting for what she believed was good. She did deserve her nickname and this is how I envision those religious psychopaths of the era.

Historia
It is the spring of 1527. Henry VIII has come to Hever Castle in Kent to pay court to Anne Boleyn. He is desperate to have her. For this mirror of female perfection he will set aside his queen and all Cardinal Wolsey's plans for a dynastic French marriage. Anne Boleyn is not so sure. She loathes Wolsey for breaking her betrothal to the Earl of Northumberland's son, Harry Percy, whom she had loved. She does not welcome the king's advances; she knows that she can never give him her heart.

Excellently narrated. This was a first time I listened to historical novel and I was pleasantly surprised it brought a more vivid narration to pure historical facts I was reading about before. This story exceeded the expectations and I’m drawn to reach for more books of the author

Tall, dark, and exquisitely sensual, he is the epitome of male perfection. Not that Claudia Martin is looking for a lover. Or a husband. As owner and headmistress of Miss Martin's School for Girls in Bath, she long ago resigned herself to a life without love. Until Joseph, Marquess of Attingsborough, arrives unannounced and tempts her to toss away a lifetime of propriety for an affair that can only lead to ruin.

I loved the story but wish Claudia had a voice of 30yo she is and not an elderly lady
Revisado: 09-20-24
I discovered the autor following Rosalyn Landon because I love her performance but this time I was a getting frustrated she gave Claudia voice of an older lady, she might be old spinster for the era but it doesn’t change a fact a 30 year old woman would not talk like a 60+ year old one and that’s what I’m feeling the whole time while listening and I need to remind myself all the time Claudia is just in her early 30s. I love the story and I love this book is the final one of the series although I’m longing for more

Historia
In 1761, on a sunny day in September, a King and Queen met for the very first time. They were married within hours. Born a German Princess, Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz was beautiful, headstrong, and fiercely intelligent… not precisely the attributes the British Court had been seeking in a spouse for the young King George III. But her fire and independence were exactly what she, and her King, needed. Because George has secrets… secrets with the potential to shake the very foundations of the monarchy.
